Business Strategy Analyst
Business Strategy Analyst
Zavya | Gurugram | Full-Time | Work From Office
Experience: 1–3 years
Education: Premier engineering or management institutes preferred; MBA is an advantage.
The Role
No playbook. No hand-holding. Real problems. Real ownership.
We're looking for an exceptionally sharp, ambitious, and AI-first problem solver to work directly with the business leadership and co-founders at Zavya.
This is not a conventional business analyst role.
You won't be handed perfectly defined problems, detailed instructions, or established frameworks to follow.
Instead, you'll be expected to identify what needs fixing, question why things work the way they do, develop solutions, and take ownership of getting them implemented.
We're looking for someone who combines first-principles thinking, intellectual curiosity, technological fluency, and an exceptional bias for action.
Someone who can think strategically, move independently, challenge assumptions, and build solutions rather than just recommend them.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Solve Unstructured Business Problems
- Work directly with leadership to identify business bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and growth opportunities.
- Break down ambiguous problems using first-principles thinking, data, and structured reasoning.
- Move from problem identification to diagnosis, solution design, and execution.2. Build an AI-First Business
- Identify opportunities to apply AI, automation, and emerging technologies across functions.
- Build practical AI-powered workflows, analytical tools, and automations that improve productivity and business outcomes.
- Experiment with tools, prototype solutions, and implement what works.
- Challenge processes that exist simply because that's how they've always been done.3. Drive High-Impact Strategic Initiatives
- Own special projects spanning revenue growth, profitability, business operations, and customer experience.
- Work cross-functionally to drive initiatives from concept to measurable results.
- Identify opportunities proactively rather than waiting for projects to be assigned.4. Turn Data Into Decisions
- Analyze business performance, identify patterns, and uncover underlying drivers.
- Translate complex data into clear business insights and actionable recommendations.
- Build scalable decision-making frameworks rather than repetitive manual reports.
Who We're Looking For
We care less about how many years you've worked and more about how you think, what you've built, and what you've owned.
- Academic foundation: Graduates from leading engineering institutions (IITs, NITs, IIITs, VIT, or equivalent) or premier business schools preferred. MBA is a plus.
- Experience: 1–3 years in strategy, consulting, analytics, growth, technology-led business roles, or high-ownership startup environments.
- First-principles thinker: Can challenge assumptions, structure ambiguous problems, and arrive at independent conclusions.
- AI-native operator: Uses AI extensively to research, analyze, automate, prototype, and execute. Has actually built something useful with AI.
- High agency: Doesn't wait to be told what to do. Identifies problems, proposes solutions, and drives them forward.
- Fearless communicator: Comfortable questioning conventional approaches, defending ideas with evidence, and engaging directly with senior leadership.
- Analytical horsepower: Strong quantitative reasoning, commercial understanding, and comfort working with data.
- Bias for execution: Values outcomes over presentations, experiments over endless discussions, and progress over perfection.
- Learning velocity: Can quickly understand unfamiliar industries, tools, and business problems.
What You'll Get
- Direct exposure: Work closely with business leadership and co-founders on consequential business decisions.
- End-to-end ownership: Take initiatives from problem identification through execution.
- Freedom to experiment: Challenge traditional processes and build better ways of working.
- Cross-functional learning: Work across growth, commerce, operations, technology, and strategic initiatives.
- Accelerated responsibility: Your scope will grow with your ability to deliver, not merely your tenure.
Before You Apply
This role is for people who are comfortable being uncomfortable.
You should enjoy solving problems without predefined answers, challenging established thinking, learning new technologies independently, and being accountable for outcomes.
