Full Stack Engineer

Aventis
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

Company Description Aventis is an ERP-native cross-border B2B payments platform that uses stablecoins and AI-driven routing to make international B2B and supplier payments faster, cheaper, and fully automated from existing finance systems. The platform helps enterprises and mid-market companies reduce cross-border payment costs through lower network fees and improved FX, while cutting settlement times from days to minutes or same-day where supported. Aventis is designed for CFOs, controllers, and AP leaders who want modern, API-like cross-border payments instead of slow, opaque traditional banking processes.

Location: Bangalore or Hyderabad, India

What you'll do:

  • Design, build and operate Go services that orchestrate multi-step transactions across internal systems and third-party providers.
  • Make every operation safe to repeat: idempotency keys, deduplication and exactly-once effects on top of at-least-once delivery.
  • Implement automated retries with exponential backoff and jitter, timeouts and clear handling of terminal failures.
  • Build secure webhook ingestion (signature verification, replay protection, durable queuing) and reliable outbound webhook dispatch to partners.
  • Own reconciliation, both scheduled batch jobs and event-driven checks, so that internal records always match provider and ledger state.
  • Design OLTP schemas in PostgreSQL and keep queries fast through sound indexing, query planning and transaction design.
  • Build product features in Next.js and React, with typed contracts shared across the stack.
  • Define and evolve infrastructure on AWS ECS and RDS using the AWS CDK in TypeScript.
  • Review code, write clear technical designs and help keep patterns consistent across the codebase.

How we build:

  • We favour simple, modular design with consistent, repeatable patterns. You'll fit in well if you value:
  • Clean domain boundaries - each module owns its data and exposes a small, explicit interface.
  • Readable code - written for the next engineer, not to show off.
  • Predictable structure - a new service or feature looks like the last one.
  • Restraint - no clever abstractions or speculative generality; we add complexity only when a real problem demands it.

What you bring:

  • 4–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with full-stack ownership of production systems.
  • Expertise in Go for building backend services.
  • Expertise in TypeScript, React and Next.js.
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL, including OLTP schema design, indexing and query performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Service orchestration across multiple internal and external systems
  • Idempotency and safe handling of duplicate requests
  • Automated retries with backoff
  • Secure webhook ingestion and dispatch
  • Reconciliation, both scheduled and event-driven
  • A track record of choosing simple, consistent designs over clever or over-engineered ones.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, especially in design docs and code review.

Nice to have:

Experience in fintech or payments, such as payment rails, ledgers, settlement or PSP integrations.

Experience with stablecoins (a plus, not a requirement).

How we work:

  • We hire builders: people who solve hard problems, ship work they're proud of and don't wait to be told what to do.
  • Ownership over permission. You'll take a problem from a blank page to production and keep owning it once it's live. If you see something broken, you fix it.
  • More responsibility than feels comfortable. We give people real scope early and back them to grow into it. This is a place to do the best work of your career.
  • Impact over titles. Good ideas win on merit, not seniority. What you ship matters more than what your title says.
  • Hands-on, everyone. Nobody is too senior to write code, debug a production issue or talk to a customer.
  • Only build what matters. If it doesn't make cross-border payments faster, cheaper or more reliable for our customers, we don't build it.
  • Speed with rigour. We move fast in short cycles, but we're moving money, so correctness is never negotiable.
  • Talented peers. You'll work alongside a small, high-calibre team that raises your bar every day.
