The Functional Consultant - Dynamics AX is responsible for supporting the implementation, configuration, optimization, and functional consulting of Microsoft Dynamics AX and Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations solutions aligned with business and operational requirements. This role collaborates closely with project managers, solution architects, technical consultants, business stakeholders, and client teams to deliver scalable ERP solutions that support enterprise transformation initiatives and operational process improvements. The position participates in business process analysis, requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, solution validation, testing activities, documentation, training support, and client engagement activities while ensuring alignment with delivery methodologies and client expectations.

Role

  • Support the implementation, configuration, and optimization of Microsoft Dynamics AX and Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations solutions based on business and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, solution architects, technical teams, and client stakeholders to support ERP project delivery activities.
  • Participate in discovery sessions, business process analysis, requirements gathering, gap-fit analysis, and scope confirmation activities.
  • Document business requirements, workflow diagrams, process maps, functional specifications, meeting notes, and operational procedures.
  • Facilitate workshops, user discussions, demonstrations, and solution walkthroughs with client stakeholders.
  • Assist in configuring ERP modules, workflows, reports, dashboards, forms, and operational process configurations where applicable.
  • Support solution validation, testing activities, quality assurance processes, user acceptance testing, and issue resolution efforts.
  • Collaborate with technical consultants to ensure business requirements are translated effectively into functional and technical solutions.
  • Support organizational change management activities, user enablement initiatives, training coordination, and go-live support activities.
  • Assist with ERP data validation, migration support activities, reporting validation, and administrative support where applicable.
  • Maintain project documentation, configuration records, status updates, and client communication artifacts.
  • Participate in Agile project delivery activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, project coordination, and delivery support tasks where applicable.
  • Support project management activities as needed including coordination, status tracking, follow-ups, and risk identification.
  • Maintain awareness of Microsoft Dynamics AX and Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations platform capabilities, business process improvement opportunities, and industry best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to financial operations, supply chain processes, workflow optimization, and operational efficiency.

Job-related Experience

  • Experience in ERP consulting, business analysis, enterprise application support, or functional consulting environments is preferred.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics AX or Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations, business process documentation, workshop facilitation, workflow analysis, testing activities, and client-facing project engagements is preferred.
  • Experience supporting consulting practice or professional services engagements is preferred.
