Full-Stack AI Engineer (UI/UX) Available to join in 0-15 days only

Role Description

This role is a member of the Gen Re Technology team responsible for the end-to-end delivery of AI-powered features and capabilities for in-house products, with a strong emphasis on UI/UX and measurable business value.

The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and refine functional and technical requirements, and will actively participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, partnering with data, infrastructure, security, and other cross-functional teams to design, build, test, and deliver AI solutions.

The candidate must be quality-focused and delivery-oriented, with the ability to design and validate UX proof-of-concepts and prototypes, ensure compliance with regulatory, security, privacy, and governance requirements, and mentor team members while contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering practices and AI delivery processes.

Specific Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery of AI features involving UI/UX and capabilities for in-house products, with a strong focus on business value.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and refine functional and technical requirements.
• Actively participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, weekly standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Design, develop, test, and deliver UX proof-of-concepts (POCs) and prototypes to validate business value and technical feasibility.
• Ensure all deliverables meet established quality standards and are delivered on schedule.
• Design and implement AI solutions in compliance with applicable regulatory, security, privacy, and governance requirements.
• Identify, recommend, and implement performance, scalability, reliability, and cost optimization improvements for AI features and services.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering practices, development methodologies, and AI delivery processes.
• Recommend emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and approaches that can enhance product capabilities and development efficiency.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture designs, feature specifications, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
• Conduct thorough testing, validation, and evaluation of AI models and features to ensure accuracy, reliability, and production readiness.
• Build telemetry with metrics, logs, and traces to monitor AI solutions in production, investigate issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain service quality and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data, infrastructure, and security, to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Share knowledge, mentor team members, and contribute to the continuous growth and technical excellence of the AI team.
• Take ownership of assigned work items and be accountable for the quality, maintainability, security, and successful delivery of all assigned deliverables.

Knowledge Transfer

• Company will provide documentation for and facilitate knowledge transfer to the production support teams, including third-party service providers of Gen Re.

Experience/Skills Required

• Proven experience designing, developing, and delivering AI-powered features, including UI/UX components, for production software products.
• Experience building and validating proof-of-concepts (POCs) and prototypes to test business value and technical feasibility.
• Strong requirements-gathering and analysis skills, with the ability to translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an Agile Scrum methodology, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, weekly standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Understanding of regulatory, security, privacy, and governance requirements applicable to AI solutions.
• Experience testing, validating, and evaluating AI models and features for accuracy, reliability, and production readiness.
• Experience building telemetry (metrics, logs, and traces) and using observability tooling to monitor solutions in production and troubleshoot issues.
• Ability to identify and implement performance, scalability, reliability, and cost optimization improvements.
• Familiarity with emerging AI tools, frameworks, and approaches, and sound judgment on when they add value.
• Strong technical documentation skills, including architecture designs, feature specifications, deployment, and operational procedures.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience partnering across data, infrastructure, and security teams, and a track record of mentoring and knowledge-sharing within a team.

Education Required

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Relevant certifications in AI/ML engineering, cloud platforms, or software development are a plus.
