Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer 2 (.NET) to join our Technology team in Mumbai. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications using the Microsoft technology stack. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and C#, along with a passion for building high-quality software solutions, solving complex technical challenges, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

As a Software Engineer 2, you will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, participate in technical design discussions, and help deliver secure, reliable, and performant applications that drive business value.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web-based and enterprise applications using .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and C#.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA engineers, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop, test, debug, and support software applications across multiple environments.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, performance, reliability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and recommend improvements to architecture and development processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions.
• Support deployment activities and ensure smooth releases into production environments.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.
• Collaborate effectively with global teams during Europe business hours.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with C# programming.
• Experience developing applications using .NET Core.
• Solid understanding of ASP.NET MVC framework.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, and software engineering principles.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and web services.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of application security, performance optimization, and scalability concepts.
• Experience with source code management tools such as Git.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Functional Skills

• Ability to analyse requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder communication skills.

Core Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Typically 3-5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven experience developing enterprise-grade applications using .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and C#.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems concepts.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.
• Experience with unit testing and automated testing frameworks.
• Understanding of modern application architecture and best practices.
• Experience supporting applications in production environments.
• Exposure to performance monitoring and application diagnostics tools.
