Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Java Full Stack Developer with strong experience in Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Microservices, PostgreSQL, and Angular/ReactJS. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing and developing scalable backend services while also contributing to frontend development.

The role requires strong engineering practices, ownership of modules, performance optimization, secure API development, and the ability to mentor team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Microservices.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs using industry-standard API design practices.
  • Work with Kafka/RabbitMQ for event-driven and asynchronous communication.
  • Implement application security using Spring Security, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, and RBAC.
  • Develop frontend applications using Angular and/or ReactJS.
  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, queries, indexes, and transactions.
  • Implement caching using Redis/Ehcache and optimize application performance.
  • Work with monitoring and observability tools such as Micrometer, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Write unit, integration, and contract tests using JUnit 5, Mockito, Spring Test, and Testcontainers.
  • Follow SOLID principles, Clean Code, and Clean/Hexagonal Architecture.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding, security, and performance standards.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of modules, including design, development, testing, deployment, and operational performance.
  • Mentor developers, support sprint planning, resolve technical blockers, and contribute to estimation and risk management.
  • Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate technical trade-offs.

Required Technical SkillsBackend – Java & Spring Ecosystem

  • Strong proficiency in Core Java 8/11/17/21.
  • Collections, Multithreading/Concurrency, Streams, and Functional Programming.
  • Understanding of JVM internals, memory management, and Garbage Collection.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
  • Dependency Injection, Auto Configuration, Configuration Management, Actuator, and Profiles.
  • Experience with Spring Cloud and Microservices architecture.
  • Service Discovery using Eureka/Consul.
  • Config Server, API Gateway, Circuit Breaker, and distributed configuration.

REST APIs & Messaging

  • Strong knowledge of REST API design.
  • OpenAPI/Swagger, API versioning, pagination, idempotency, and error-handling standards.
  • Experience with Kafka and/or RabbitMQ.
  • Understanding of event-driven architecture and message delivery semantics.

Security

  • Experience with Spring Security.
  • OAuth2/OIDC and JWT.
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Secure API development and input validation.
  • Understanding of OWASP Top 10 security practices.

Performance & Observability

  • Experience with Micrometer, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, or Zipkin.
  • Caching using Redis/Ehcache.
  • Understanding of cache keys, TTL, and cache stampede prevention.
  • Performance optimization, threading models, connection pooling, and memory management.
  • Experience with HikariCP and N+1 query optimization.

Database – PostgreSQL

  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Database schema design and normalization/denormalization.
  • Indexing strategies including BTREE, GIN/GiST, composite, and partial indexes.
  • Strong SQL skills including joins, CTEs, window functions, and analytical queries.
  • Query optimization using EXPLAIN/ANALYZE.
  • Understanding of VACUUM, ANALYZE, statistics, and slow query analysis.
  • Transactions, isolation levels, constraints, and deadlock troubleshooting.

Frontend – Angular / ReactJS

  • Hands-on experience with Angular (v12+) and/or ReactJS.
  • Angular components, services, RxJS, routing, forms, and interceptors.
  • Experience with NgRx or equivalent state-management frameworks.
  • REST API integration and error handling.
  • Frontend performance optimization including lazy loading and change detection.
  • Knowledge of ESLint and Prettier.

Testing

  • JUnit 5
  • Mockito

  • Contract Testing such as Pact
  • Strong focus on test coverage and code quality

Engineering & Architecture

  • Strong understanding of SOLID principles.
  • Clean Code and Clean/Hexagonal Architecture.

  • Consistent API naming and error models.
  • Strong code review and debugging practices.
  • Focus on scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Own modules end-to-end from design through production support.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers.
  • Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and technical discussions.
  • Identify and resolve technical blockers.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and technical decisions clearly.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
  • Maintain a strong quality mindset and ensure adequate test coverage.
