Objective: The Principal Software Engineer on the Experience team will drive the visual modernization of established applications with a Vue front end backed by PHP. This is a hands-on senior development role focused on refreshing and elevating the user interface of live products by delivering modern, responsive, accessible, and high-performance interfaces within the existing technology stack.

This is a visual modernization effort, not a ground-up rewrite. You will work within running applications, combining strong front-end engineering fundamentals with deep experience in modern web technologies.

The role requires strong architectural thinking, but the day-to-day expectation is hands-on coding. You will design solutions and implement them yourself. You will work closely with Product Management and UX to translate experience goals into performant, consistent, and maintainable interfaces.

Our modernization strategy emphasizes highly senior engineers who use AI-assisted development as a force multiplier. You will be expected to leverage agentic coding, spec-driven development, and AI-augmented code review as part of your daily workflow, including when ramping up on unfamiliar or legacy codebases.

Location: Hybrid – Hyderabad, India (In-office 3 days per week).

Core Job Duties

* Refresh and elevate the interface within a Vue and PHP application, improving component structure, styling, interaction, and overall user experience while preserving existing behavior.

* Build modern, responsive, and accessible UI improvements with a strong focus on performance and consistency.

* Establish and elevate front-end quality across the team, including component structure, CSS architecture, state management, and performance.

* Perform code reviews to ensure front-end implementations meet quality standards and follow established patterns.

* Collaborate with Product Management and UX Design to translate experience goals into scalable technical solutions.

* Identify and resolve UI performance bottlenecks, including load times, rendering performance, and client-side resource management.

* Integrate cleanly with backend services through RESTful APIs.

* Raise the bar on modern front-end development practices through code reviews, pairing, and leading by example.

* Use AI-assisted development tools, including agentic coding, spec-driven development, and AI-augmented code review, as part of the daily development workflow.

* For ATS-related applications, modernize legacy jQuery pages into modern, component-based Vue while preserving existing functionality and behavior.

Experience

* Typically requires 7–8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree.

* 8+ years of experience developing web applications.

* 3+ years of experience developing cloud-native applications.

Minimum Qualifications

* Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools as part of professional development workflows.

* Demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly on unfamiliar or legacy codebases.

* Ability to independently research and solve complex technical problems.

* Expert-level Vue 3 experience, including component libraries and design systems.

* Strong experience with component-driven UI architecture.

* Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript and TypeScript.

* Strong CSS architecture skills.

* Experience building responsive and accessible web applications.

* Strong understanding of state management patterns.

* Strong understanding of front-end performance and optimization.

* Experience consuming RESTful APIs and integrating cleanly with backend services.

* Experience with Azure.

* Strong understanding of SOLID principles.

* Experience with unit and integration testing for front-end applications.

* Familiarity with PHP-backed applications.

ATS-Specific Requirement / Preferred Experience

* Experience working with legacy jQuery applications and modernizing legacy jQuery pages into component-based Vue.

* Ability to understand existing jQuery code and progressively migrate functionality to Vue while maintaining existing application behavior.

Additional Preferred Experience

* Design system integration and component libraries.

* Accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1.

* Performance profiling and optimization tools.

* Experience working in large, established/legacy application environments.
