Accountabilities

As a Senior Backend Engineer with DevOps experience, you will take ownership of backend development while contributing to system integration, deployment automation, and the reliability of cloud-native applications.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs.
• Build, enhance, and maintain microservice-based applications using Java and modern frameworks such as Spring Boot or Quarkus.
• Develop and optimize integrations with relational databases, messaging platforms, and enterprise services.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and application deployments across development, testing, and production environments.
• Troubleshoot application, integration, and deployment issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure code quality, scalability, maintainability, and architectural consistency.
• Promote software engineering best practices, including clean code, automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
• Apply DevOps practices to improve platform reliability, deployment efficiency, and operational performance.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development workflows, infrastructure practices, and application delivery processes.

Requirements

The ideal candidate combines strong Java backend engineering expertise with practical DevOps experience and a solid understanding of distributed, cloud-native applications.

• Strong hands-on experience with Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot and/or Quarkus.
• Proven experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservice architectures.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL or comparable relational database technologies.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, clean code principles, and automated testing.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, and Kubernetes.
• Experience troubleshooting applications across development, testing, deployment, and production environments.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and asynchronous communication patterns.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka or similar platforms.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GitLab CI, Argo CD, and Helm.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization standards, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and JSON Web Tokens (JWT).
• Experience working in cloud-native environments.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and deployment automation practices.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
