Role : Senior Automotive Software Requirements Engineer (Infotainment & Seating)

Location : Pune

Work Mode : Hybrid

Duration : 12 Months

The Senior Automotive Software Requirements Engineer will focus on the development and management of software requirements for automotive infotainment and seating systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring that requirements are effectively analyzed, documented, and communicated across cross-functional teams to achieve superior product quality and user experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform requirement analysis and decomposition for infotainment features.
  • Author and maintain software specifications with clear traceability.
  • Manage traceability matrices across requirements, design, and test cases.
  • Utilize DOORS DNG for requirement management and version control.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define IVI architecture (head unit, middleware, apps).
  • Design and validate HMI & UX principles for infotainment systems.
  • Work on multimedia subsystems (audio, video, navigation).
  • Integrate and validate vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, UDS, OBD-II).
  • Apply mid-level Functional Safety knowledge to software requirements, including ISO 26262 concepts.
  • Apply mid-level Automotive Cybersecurity knowledge to requirements engineering, including ISO/SAE 21434 concepts.
  • Provide technical leadership in embedded systems (Linux, QNX, Android Automotive).
  • Analyze and decompose requirements for automotive seating functions.
  • Define and review seat-control system architecture and interfaces.
  • Specify and validate seat diagnostics and safety behavior.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and apply system thinking to complex problems.Must Haves:
  • 7-9 years total experience including 3+ years in Automotive Infotainment or Embedded Systems.
  • Strong skills in requirement analysis & decomposition.
  • Expertise in specification writing and documentation.
  • Experience with DOORS DNG and version management tools.
  • Knowledge of Automotive IVI domain.
  • Technical depth in embedded systems basics (Linux, QNX, Android Automotive).
  • Understanding of Vehicle communication protocols: CAN, LIN, Ethernet.
  • Proficiency in mid-level AUTOSAR.
  • Mid-level proficiency in Functional Safety and Automotive Cybersecurity.
  • Automotive seating domain knowledge.Nice to Haves:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers.
  • Experience in cross-domain collaboration.
  • Exposure to OTA updates and connected services.
