A Day in Your Life at MKS: We are seeking a talented a Data Scientist to join our Engineering team in Bangalore. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, sustaining engineering, and documentation of advanced MKS products. In this role, you will report to the Bangalore Engineering Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Develops and communicates descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive insights/algorithms
- In product/systems improvement projects: uses machine language and statistical modeling techniques such as decision trees, logistic regression, Bayesian analysis and others to develop and evaluate algorithms to improve product/system performance, quality, data management and accuracy
- In both theoretical development environments and specific product design, implementation and improvement environments, uses current programming language and technologies to translate algorithms and technical specifications into code
- Completes programming and implements efficiencies, performs testing and debugging
- Employees in this role are expected to apply knowledge of experimental methodologies, statistics, optimization, probability theory and machine learning using code for tool building, statistical analysis and modeling using both general purpose software languages (eg, C++, C#, Java) and statistical languages (eg, R, SAS or MATLAB)
- Can work with large scale computing frameworks, data analysis systems and modeling environments (eg, Hadoop, Cosmos, or CloudML) Skills You Bring:
- Requires a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or PhD degree or equivalent experience in a related scientific discipline and 2 years of related experience Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Ability to sit and work at a computer workstation for extended periods.
- Ability to use laboratory equipment and occasionally lift and move electronic equipment or test fixtures up to 25 pounds.
- Work is performed in office and engineering laboratory environments.
- Regular use of electronic test equipment and prototype hardware for product development, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
