Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot backend development. The role is primarily focused on backend engineering, with approximately 80% backend and 20% frontend responsibilities.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience designing and developing scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL, along with working knowledge of Angular, TypeScript, Single-SPA, Jenkins, OpenShift, Bitbucket, and AWS. The candidate will work in an Agile environment and contribute across development, integration, testing, deployment, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development – 80%

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Build robust, secure, and high-performance REST APIs and microservices.
  • Implement business logic, service integrations, exception handling, validation, and backend processing.
  • Develop reusable and maintainable code following Java and Spring Boot best practices.
  • Work with PostgreSQL for database design, queries, stored procedures, and data integration.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot application, API, database, and production issues.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to application architecture decisions.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development and coding standards.
  • Work closely with QA, DevOps, architects, product owners, and other engineering teams.Frontend Development – 20%
  • Develop and enhance user interfaces using Angular and TypeScript.
  • Work with existing Angular applications and integrate frontend components with backend REST APIs.
  • Support applications built using Single-SPA architecture.
  • Familiarity with Single-SPA is acceptable; strong hands-on expertise is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Troubleshoot frontend issues and ensure seamless integration between frontend and backend services.DevOps & CI/CD
  • Develop, maintain, and support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Deploy and manage applications in OpenShift environments.
  • Work with DevOps teams to automate build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
  • Troubleshoot deployment and environment-related issues.
  • Support cloud-native application deployment using AWS and OpenShift technologies.Code Quality & Security
  • Follow secure coding practices and enterprise development standards.
  • Use SonarQube for code quality analysis and remediation.
  • Work with Nexus IQ for software component and dependency security.
  • Address vulnerabilities identified through Fortify and other security scanning tools.
  • Ensure application code meets security, quality, and compliance requirements.Agile & Collaboration
  • Work within an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Use Jira for sprint planning, task tracking, backlog management, and issue tracking.
  • Use Bitbucket for source code management, branching, pull requests, and code collaboration.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and technical discussions.
  • Collaborate effectively with distributed and cross-functional teams.Required Skills & Experience
  • 6+ years of relevant software development experience; 7+ years total experience preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot.
  • Strong backend development experience with REST APIs and microservices.
  • Good experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Working experience with Angular and TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with Single-SPA is an advantage.
  • Experience with Jenkins and OpenShift.
  • Experience with Bitbucket and Jira.
  • Knowledge of AWS and OpenShift cloud technologies.
  • Experience with SonarQube, Nexus IQ, and Fortify.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.Technology Stack
