Senior Kotlin Developer

Backend Engineer (Kotlin) – Healthcare System Integrations

We build a mobile documentation app for senior care and are looking for a

backend engineer to work on our integrations with third-party care

management / EHR systems.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain integrations that sync data between our platform and

external healthcare systems (mostly REST and GraphQL APIs, occasionally XML).

• Map external data models onto our internal domain model and handle the edge

cases real-world data throws at you.

• Write tests, take part in code review, and keep integrations robust and

observable in production.

• Work through vendor API docs and sandbox environments, and raise questions

with vendors when the docs don't match reality.

What we're looking for

• Strong Kotlin (JVM) and coroutines experience. Ktor is a plus.

• Hands-on experience integrating third-party APIs: OAuth2, pagination, rate

limits, retries, idempotency.

• Comfortable with Gradle, Git, Docker and CI pipelines.

• Careful with data: you test edge cases and think about failure modes before

they reach production.

• Clear written English and comfortable working asynchronously.

Nice to have

• Experience with US healthcare / EHR systems, or with

healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR).

• Familiarity with GraphQL.

• Experience handling sensitive personal or health data (HIPAA / GDPR).
