About The Role

The Qualcomm CPU Software Architect role is a strategic and technical leadership position focused on developing and optimizing high-performance, energy-efficient software solutions for next-generation CPU architectures. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including hardware designers, compiler engineers, kernel developers, and external partners to ensure that software performance meets stringent benchmarks and power consumption standards. This role involves designing, benchmarking, and refining software components such as libraries, compilers, runtime environments, and algorithms to maximize CPU performance across various product segments. The architect will also lead efforts in pre- and post-silicon verification, ensuring that silicon prototypes meet performance and power targets. Qualifications

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Proven expertise in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and Python is essential, along with a solid understanding of CPU architecture, Linux internals, device drivers, and operating system concepts. Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of software for high-performance CPU architectures, ensuring alignment with performance, energy efficiency, and scalability goals.
• Design, implement, and refine software components including libraries, compilers, and runtime environments to maximize hardware capabilities.
• Conduct comprehensive benchmarking and performance analysis to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement across various workloads.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to understand architectural features and leverage them to enhance software performance.
• Participate in pre- and post-silicon verification processes, ensuring silicon prototypes meet performance and power specifications.
• Develop new benchmarks and workloads to evaluate upcoming product segments and workloads.
• Evaluate and implement optimization strategies at the software and hardware interface, including assembly-level tuning and algorithm enhancements.
• Work with external partners, open-source communities, and internal teams to incorporate best practices and innovative solutions.
• Document technical specifications, performance metrics, and optimization strategies to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
