This role is designed for someone early in their career who learns quickly, communicates

long tool checklist.
What you'll do
- Build and ship user-facing features in React and TypeScript, with guidance on design and code quality
- Contribute to Python APIs and services that power Hunar Connect, including REST endpoints and basic data access with SQL
- Work from well-scoped tickets: clarify requirements, propose a simple approach, implement, and open pull requests for review
- Write clear, maintainable code and add basic tests where they protect important behavior
- Debug issues across the frontend, API, and database with help from teammates when you’re stuck
- Participate in code review - both receiving feedback and, over time, giving thoughtful review to peers
- Collaborate with product and design to understand the “why” behind features, not only the “what”
- Improve docs, small tooling, or developer experience when you spot friction (with support)
Requirements (must-haves)
- 0–2 years of professional software experience, or equivalent through internships, bootcamps, coursework, open source, or substantial personal projects
- Working knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript
- Experience building UIs with React (or a similar modern UI framework)
- Familiarity with Node.js and building or consuming REST APIs
- Basic SQL skills (reading queries, simple joins, understanding tables and relationships)
- Comfort with Git (branching, commits, pull requests)
- Ability to break a problem into steps, communicate progress, and ask for help early
- Willingness to learn in public: take feedback, iterate, and document what you learn
Nice-to-haves
- Exposure to testing (unit or integration) in a JS/TS codebase
- Familiarity with cloud basics, CI/CD, or deploying a small app end-to-end
- Experience with relational databases beyond simple queries (indexes, migrations)
- Interest in accessibility, performance, or product analytics
- Contributions to open source, hackathons, or teaching/mentoring othersNone of these are required. They’re signals of curiosity, not filters.
