Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and fine-tune multilingual speech models (ASR and TTS) for Indian languages including Hindi, English, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and Kannada, with a focus on production-grade accuracy and low word error rates
  • Develop and optimize end-to-end voice-to-voice pipelines — speech-to-text, LLM inference, and text-to-speech — with sub-second latency targets for real-time conversational experiences on JioFrames AI
  • Build and maintain NLP models for intent recognition, wake-word detection, command parsing, and context understanding, handling code-switching and Hinglish inputs natively
  • Fine-tune large language models (LLaMA, Qwen, Gemma, or equivalent) using SFT, LoRA, QLoRA, and GRPO techniques on domain-specific conversational and product data
  • Design and implement multi-turn dialogue systems with session memory, context retention, and graceful fallback handling across voice and text interaction modalities
  • Build robust evaluation frameworks for conversational AI — including golden dataset creation, LLM-as-judge pipelines, RAGAS-based RAG evaluation, and per-language accuracy benchmarking across Indian language variants
  • Develop and integrate RAG pipelines and agentic workflows for the JioAI assistant, enabling grounded, factual responses for product features including live translation, navigation, health monitoring, and contextual Q&A
  • Collaborate closely with firmware, hardware, Android, and product teams to integrate AI models into the JioFrames AI ecosystem — ensuring models meet on-device constraints, OTA update compatibility, and production reliability standards
  • Establish and own MLOps infrastructure — model versioning, experiment tracking (MLflow or W&B), training pipeline automation, and continuous model improvement through A/B testing and production feedback loops
  • Stay current with state-of-the-art research in multilingual speech AI, voice assistants, and conversational LLMs — rapidly evaluating and adapting new techniques, models, and tools to improve JioFrames AI's conversational capabilities.
