Full Stack Engineer (Python/FastAPI, AI-Native Development)
Lead Full Stack Engineer (Python/FastAPI, AI-Native Development)
Remote: India, Pakistan, Vietnam, etc.
Most developers use AI to autocomplete. We want the one who uses it to ship a feature in a day that used to take a sprint, and who knows exactly where the model is wrong.
Ventive is a US-based software and AI consultancy and a multiple-time Inc. 5000 honoree, headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We're building an AI-native fintech platform that replaces spreadsheet-driven professional workflows with end-to-end automation. LLMs drive the core of the product: they extract structured data from complex financial documents with multi-model validation, classify financial data, analyze contracts, run graph-based ownership analysis, and generate deliverables that used to take analysts weeks.
You'll join as a lead engineer and own a major workstream of the platform, working as a peer to our existing team lead. This is a build role, not a maintenance role.
What you'll do
You'll architect and ship backend services and APIs in Python/FastAPI, and build the Next.js frontends that sit on top of them. You'll design LLM-powered pipelines (document extraction, classification, multi-step agents, consensus validation) and make them reliable and testable in production. You'll turn product specs into working software fast, using AI coding tools as your primary workflow. You'll review code, generated and human-written, with a sharp eye for correctness, security, and maintainability. You'll make architecture decisions and defend them.
What you bring
- 5+ years of professional software development, with Python and FastAPI as must-haves
- Strong async Python, SQLAlchemy 2.0, PostgreSQL, and Alembic migrations
- Working knowledge of Next.js, React, and TypeScript (TanStack Query, Tailwind, shadcn/Radix, Zod a plus)
- Daily, serious use of AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar). You can show us how you work.
- Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI, OpenRouter): prompting, structured outputs, tool use, evaluation
- Bonus: Neo4j/Cypher, Redis, Celery, Docker, AWS, vector databases, PDF/document processing, QuickBooks or other financial system integrations
- Working professional English. You don't need to be perfectly fluent, but you need to be clear in writing and on calls.
Who you are
You're entrepreneurial and you take ownership. You don't wait for tickets, you find problems and solve them. When something breaks at a bad time, you treat it as yours. You're fast without being sloppy, and you'd rather ship and iterate than over-plan. You're curious about the business problem, not just the code.
The details
- Full-time, remote, long-term. This must be your only full-time role.
- $2,000 to $4,000+ USD per month, based on experience
- Your working hours extend to ~midnight your local time, to overlap with the US Mountain Time mornings
- A small, senior team with direct access to leadership and real influence over the product
Individuals only. We hire directly. No agencies, staffing firms, outsourcing companies, or subcontracting arrangements. Applications submitted on someone else's behalf will be rejected.
How to apply
Applications without all three of these won't be reviewed:
- Your GitHub or a link to something you've shipped
- A short paragraph describing a recent project you built with AI tools: what the AI generated, what you had to fix, and why
- A 2-minute Loom or video introducing yourself in English
- A resume if your Linkedin profile isn't complete or detailed.
