About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative CPU Software Architect to join our engineering team at Qualcomm. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing software that enhances CPU performance, power efficiency, and scalability across various product segments. You will leverage your expertise in computer architecture, software development, and performance analysis to drive improvements in software stacks, including Linux internals, device drivers, and application workloads. Your work will directly impact the performance benchmarks and silicon verification processes, ensuring that Qualcomm’s next-generation products meet stringent performance and energy efficiency standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant software engineering experience. Candidates holding a Master's degree with at least 1 year of experience or a PhD in the relevant fields are also encouraged to apply. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, or similar is essential. A strong understanding of computer architecture, operating system concepts, and Linux internals is required. Experience with performance benchmarking, software optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams will be highly valued.
Responsibilities
As a CPU Software Architect at Qualcomm, your primary responsibilities will include leveraging your knowledge of CPU architecture to develop and optimize software for high performance and low power consumption. You will run and analyze benchmarks for various applications, performing critical pre- and post-silicon verification to ensure that performance and power goals are achieved. Developing new benchmarks tailored for upcoming workloads and product segments will be part of your role, alongside understanding software workloads at a deeper level, including libraries, compilers, assembly, runtime environments, and algorithms.
You will collaborate closely with internal teams such as CPU, compiler, and kernel developers, as well as external partners including benchmark vendors and open-source communities. Your role will involve evaluating optimization opportunities and implementing solutions that meet stringent performance requirements. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of software stacks, ensuring that Qualcomm’s products remain at the forefront of technological innovation and efficiency.
