Senior Scrum Master / Iteration Lead

Job Purpose: As a Senior Scrum Master / Iteration Lead, you will be part of a highly technical enterprise organization responsible for the design, delivery, support, and continuous improvement of mission-critical Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database platforms, enterprise applications, integrations, and supporting services. You will lead multiple complex Scrum and Kanban teams and partner with Database Administrators, Application Developers, Engineering Managers, Product Owners, Solution Architects, Infrastructure Engineers, Cybersecurity teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, scalable, and high-performing technology solutions. The successful candidate will combine advanced Agile leadership with strong technical knowledge of database and application delivery, software development lifecycle practices, DevOps, CI/CD, release management, production operations, and enterprise architecture. This is a technical delivery leadership role, not solely a Scrum ceremony facilitation or project coordination position.

Important Note: Must be available to work during majority of EST hours.

Responsibilities and Associated Duties:

• Lead multiple highly technical Scrum and Kanban teams responsible for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database platforms, enterprise applications, integrations, middleware, and supporting services.
• Facilitate and continuously improve Agile ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, release planning, and cross-team dependency sessions.
• Adapt Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and scaled Agile practices to support product development, platform engineering, operational work, production support, and unplanned critical incidents.
• Partner with Product Owners and technical leaders to maintain prioritized, refined, and technically actionable backlogs aligned with business value, architecture standards, operational commitments, and enterprise strategy.
• Coach teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles, flow optimization, work-in-progress limits, estimation, forecasting, technical debt management, and value-driven delivery.
• Establish transparent delivery metrics and use sprint, flow, quality, and operational indicators to identify constraints, improve predictability, and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate complex initiatives involving database upgrades, patching, migrations, schema changes, data integrations, application enhancements, platform modernization, cloud adoption, security remediation, and infrastructure changes.
• Partner with Oracle Database Developers, SQL Server Engineers, Application Developers, and Architects to plan and sequence database and application changes across development, test, staging, disaster recovery, and production environments.
• Facilitate technical discussions involving application architecture, database dependencies, data flows, APIs, middleware, performance, scalability, resiliency, high availability, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Manage cross-team dependencies and delivery commitments across database, application, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, architecture, operations, vendor, and business teams.
• Identify, track, communicate, and escalate technical risks, operational concerns, architectural constraints, resource conflicts, and delivery impediments, while driving owners toward timely resolution.
• Coordinate release schedules, database deployments, application deployments, environment readiness, production validation, rollback planning, maintenance windows, and enterprise change-management activities.
• Balance strategic project delivery with production support, platform stability, compliance work, security remediation, technical debt reduction, and lifecycle-management responsibilities.
• Support teams operating mission-critical enterprise systems by promoting reliability, performance, recoverability, monitoring, incident learning, and operational excellence.
• Facilitate timely technical and delivery decision-making, document decisions and dependencies, and ensure clear ownership of actions, risks, and commitments.
• Provide concise, accurate reporting to technical and executive stakeholders on delivery health, release readiness, capacity, forecasts, dependencies, risks, and outcomes.
• Support resource and capacity planning across multiple interdependent teams, accounting for specialized engineering skills, operational demand, and competing enterprise priorities.
• Foster an accountable, collaborative, and psychologically safe team environment with open communication, constructive conflict resolution, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
• Serve as a senior Agile leader and mentor delivery leads, Product Owners, and engineering teams, establishing consistent standards and scalable delivery practices.
• Continuously identify and implement improvements that strengthen delivery flow, engineering quality, platform reliability, stakeholder transparency, and business outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of experience as a Senior Scrum Master, Iteration Lead, Agile Delivery Lead, Technical Program Manager, or Agile Coach supporting multiple technical teams.
• Demonstrated experience leading multiple concurrent Scrum and Kanban teams delivering complex, interdependent enterprise technology initiatives.
• Strong technical understanding of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database environments, including database lifecycle activities and the dependencies between database and application delivery.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications that use complex databases, APIs, middleware, integrations, batch processing, and distributed services.
• Working knowledge of database upgrades, patching, migrations, schema changes, data movement, performance considerations, high availability, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery concepts.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing, environment management, release management, and production deployment processes.
• Experience coordinating application releases, database deployments, change records, maintenance windows, production validation, rollback planning, and post-release support.
• Experience balancing planned delivery with production support, operational demand, technical debt, security remediation, compliance requirements, and platform lifecycle work.
• Advanced knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and enterprise Agile practices, with the judgment to tailor methods to technical and operational contexts.
• Experience with Agile scaling approaches such as SAFe, LeSS, Nexus, or comparable enterprise delivery models.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence, Snowflake, or comparable enterprise delivery and engineering tools.
• Strong analytical, facilitation, risk-management, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information for engineering, business, and executive audiences.
• Proven ability to influence without direct authority, build alignment across teams, manage competing priorities, and hold stakeholders accountable for decisions and commitments.
• Results-oriented self-starter who demonstrates ownership, sound judgment, adaptability, attention to detail, and an enterprise-wide perspective.
• Agile certification such as CSM, A-CSM, CSP-SM, SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, PMI-ACP, or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience supporting highly available, regulated, or 24x7 mission-critical production environments is preferred.

Salary: ₹18–30 LPA, negotiable for the right candidate. Candidates must be able to provide a minimum of 6 hours of overlap with US working hours.
