Staff Engineer - Backend
Job Description
Requirements: - 8+ years building production systems, including several years as the technical owner of a platform used by multiple teams. - Deep expertise in distributed system architecture. You can design across services, defend the trade-offs, and see the failure mode two quarters ahead. - A track record of leading design across multiple teams and pulling divergent efforts into a single architecture. - Hands-on depth in AI agentic systems: model APIs, prompt orchestration, tool-calling, evaluation, and agentic data pipelines. You still write the code. - Demonstrated influence on engineering culture and hiring: standards you set, loops you designed, and engineers you grew. - Product-first thinking and 0-to-1 experience. You work with product and business stakeholders across functions and geographies, and you judge your work by what customers get.
