Senior NX Open DeveloperYou will own the automation layer of a parametric design application built inside Siemens NX, taking the build from requirements through to a deployed plugin.

What you will build• A Siemens NX plugin with its own ribbon tab, dialogs and menu controls, written in C# against NX Open (.NET)
- Parametric generation of complex, multi-feature component geometry (patterned features, swept profiles, blended transitions, pockets and inserts) driven from a master profile
- Template instantiation and parameter-driven regeneration that survives wide swings in input values without build failures
- A preprocessor that tessellates the model, tags faces, and exports geometry and parameters as XML with stable per-face identifiers
- Import and export paths to external data sources, including Excel and CSV parameter tables
- Installer, deployment packaging and documentation for engineers who will use the tool daily
What we need you to have 5+ years building production automation against NX Open (.NET or C++), not journaling or recorded scripts alone
C# / .NET
Strong, with real experience structuring a codebase that others will maintain
Parametric CAD
Deep understanding of feature trees, expressions, constraints, and why regeneration fails
Geometry
Comfortable with boundary blends, pattern-along-curve, variable fillets, swept and multi-body operations
Delivery
Has shipped a CAD plugin that real engineers used, not only internal prototypes
Communication
Can work directly with a client's design engineers and explain trade-offs clearly in English
What would set you apart• Tessellation APIs, face or surface tagging, and getting identifiers to persist through a geometry rebuild
- XML schema work, particularly feeding a downstream simulation or FEA tool
- Background in a domain with hard geometric constraints, such as tooling, turbomachinery or precision-engineered components
- Creo Toolkit, CATIA CAA or SolidWorks API experience; transferable judgement matters more than the specific platform
- Teamcenter integration
- Mentoring a junior developer
What success looks likeIn the first phase you will validate what NX Open can and cannot do for this geometry, and the effort estimate for the full build will be yours.
Why this role is worth takingBy the end of the project, the client's design engineers will produce a complete design in one to two days instead of the seven to ten it currently takes.
This is a long engagement with a demanding international client, on a problem where the geometry is genuinely hard and the automation has to hold up in production.
You will own a product surface rather than a ticket queue, and the work carries forward into Optellix's broader CAD automation and AI-assisted design platform.
