ABOUT THE ROLEO

Our client, A UK-based organisation operating residential care services is hiring a remote, India-based IT Support & WordPress Developer. The split is roughly 60% application support and system administration, 40% web development.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Systems support (the larger half)

  • Become the in-house expert on a specialist UK case-management platform — full training provided
  • Manage user accounts, roles, permissions and password resets
  • Run the IT helpdesk — triage, prioritise and resolve staff issues, escalating where needed
  • Deliver 1:1 and group training to non-technical staff over video call
  • Write user guides, FAQs, screenshots and troubleshooting documentation
  • Identify and report system bugs; support rollout of new features

Web development

  • Work with MySQL — queries and routine database tasks
  • Build responsive pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap
  • Handle hosting, domains, DNS, SSL, backups, migrations and deployments
  • Apply on-page SEO basics and monitor site performance
  • Support API and third-party integrations; use Git for version control

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Excellent written and Spoken English( MANDATORY)
  • 2+ years in a combined IT support / web development role
  • Hands-on WordPress experience — themes, plugins, page builders
  • Working PHP ability (basic to intermediate)
  • HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript; MySQL fundamentals
  • Experience with cPanel/Plesk, domains, SSL and hosting
  • Excellent spoken and written English — you will support UK staff directly every day
  • Willingness to work UK hours and to handle confidential information under UK GDPR

NICE TO HAVE

  • WooCommerce
  • Elementor
  • Git/GitHub
  • REST APIs
  • Linux hosting
  • Google Analytics
  • Google Search Console

WHO THIS SUITS

Someone patient enough to walk a non-technical care worker through a login problem, and capable enough to fix a broken plugin the same afternoon. You will work independently alongside UK colleagues, so judgement about when to escalate matters as much as technical skill. The organisation supports vulnerable children — discretion and reliability are non-negotiable.
