About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst with strong SQL and Business Intelligence expertise to maintain and evolve the company's core SQL-based data environment. The role focuses on ensuring data reliability, consistency, and structure to support reporting and downstream applications.

This is a hands-on technical role combining SQL engineering, database administration, and business intelligence responsibilities across legacy reporting systems such as BusinessObjects XI (BO XI) and modern analytics solutions such as Power BI. The ideal candidate will support operational stability, optimize reporting solutions, and contribute to the modernization of the reporting ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration & Maintenance

• Develop, administer, and continuously improve reporting and data platforms.
• Handle incidents, bugs, and enhancement requests related to databases and reporting systems.
• Maintain data reliability, consistency, and availability for reporting and downstream applications.Database Structure & Data Modeling
• Design, maintain, and enhance relational database structures for efficient, reliable, and scalable data management.
• Apply data modeling best practices and governance standards.
• Support the long-term sustainability and modernization of database platforms.Business Intelligence & Reporting
• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical data solutions.
• Design, implement, and maintain curated analytical data models, including Power BI semantic models and BusinessObjects universes.
• Develop, implement, and optimize Power BI reports to deliver actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
• Ensure consistency and reliability across reporting outputs.BusinessObjects Maintenance & Modernization
• Maintain BusinessObjects universes and dashboards within the legacy reporting environment.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to plan and support migration to modern reporting tools.
• Contribute to the controlled evolution of the organization's reporting ecosystem.Required Technical Skills
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
• Hands-on Power BI experience, including dataflows, semantic data models, and reports.
• Strong data analysis and business intelligence capabilities.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Experience maintaining and optimizing reporting platforms and analytical data models.
• Understanding of database design, data consistency, and data governance principles.Preferred Technical Skills
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with C#.
• Experience administering and maintaining the Power BI platform, including Fabric licences, connections, and gateways.
• Familiarity with BusinessObjects XI (BO XI), universes, and dashboards.
• Experience supporting reporting platform modernization or migration initiatives.Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Statistics, Engineering, or a relevant field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in data analytics, data engineering, or related fields.
