Java Lead_Vice President _Software Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Technology Lead Java to join the Prime Brokerage Custody Platform, working with a globally distributed engineering team to deliver mission‑critical, highly scalable, and cloud‑ready transaction processing systems. This role requires close collaboration with external clients, internal stakeholders, and onshore/offshore teams to design and deliver a best‑in‑class transaction processing platform. The successful candidate will contribute to and lead the evolution of platform capabilities spanning electronic trading, asset capture, processing and matching engines, workflow and rules engines, and clearing and settlement, supporting complex multi‑asset deliveries and customizations.
The ideal candidate is a strong, quality‑focused Java engineer and technical leader, with experience building large‑scale, time‑sensitive systems in a modern technology stack. Knowledge of AIML and hands-on experience implementing solutions using Generative AI are also preferable.

What You’ll Do In The Role
- Design, develop and maintain highly scalable and high throughput Morgan Stanbley Prime Brokerage Transactions booking platforms.
- Optimize application performance and scalability.
- Implement data quality and data governance standards. Collaborate with stakeholders across technology and business units to understand their data needs and translate them into technical solutions and provide data-driven insights.
- Contribute to the documentation and knowledge sharing within the team, creating and maintaining technical documentation and training materials.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of development processes.
- Contribute to the broader data architecture community through knowledge sharing, presentations.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- At least 8+ years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
- A superior technologist, with strong design and implementation fundamentals. Strong design skills for building scalable systems.
- Java / Spring - Strong experience in developing enterprise level systems using Java / Spring.
- Multithreading / Concurrency – Strong experience in implementing multi-threaded applications
- Hands on experience with modern distributed technologies such as messaging brokers (e.g. Kafka) and distributed caching solutions.
- Experience of Agile development techniques and a deep understanding of systems engineering, build and release management principles including continuous integration and continuous delivery.
- Experience with application integration, software design patterns, frameworks, unit testing, automated testing, performance / memory analysis, and n-tier service-oriented architecture.
- Demonstrates the responsible adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools to transform software delivery and developer productivity. Leverages technologies such as Claude, AMP, Deep Search, and other emerging AI capabilities to accelerate the software development lifecycle, streamline engineering workflows, and improve developer effectiveness.
- Strong fundamentals of domain/event/message driven architecture and REST services
- Understanding of Docker and container orchestration.
- Experience with databases;
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information System or equivalent field
- Proficiency in programming skills in Java Spring.
- Proficiency in using frontieer AI Tools like Claude, Copilot etc.
- Proficiency in Spec based AI coding.
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
- Experience working on Snowflake and Databricks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their data services.
- Experience with message queues and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a geographically distributed team.
