Job Description for AI/ML Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop production-ready ML and AI solutions in Python for classification, recipe categorization, tagging, entity extraction, and related use cases.
• Integrate large language models through Azure AI Foundry and the OpenAI API, including prompt design, function and tool calling, structured outputs using JSON schemas, and model evaluation.
• Build and maintain AI-powered browser automation agents using Playwright in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript to navigate web applications, extract data, and reliably execute multi-step workflows.
• Design and implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using embeddings and vector search, where appropriate.
• Deploy, version, and monitor models and agents on Azure, measuring accuracy, latency, cost, and failure rates.
• Create evaluation datasets and automated tests to assess model and agent outputs, reduce hallucinations, and prevent regressions.
• Apply HIPAA safeguards when handling protected health information (PHI), including data minimization and de-identification, encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, audit logging, and the use of services covered by Business Associate Agreements (BAAs).
• Collaborate with the Estimate team, Product, and QA to translate requirements into reliable AI features and document technical designs and decisions.Required Qualifications
• At least 3 years of experience developing and deploying ML or AI solutions in production.
• Strong Python programming skills and working proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs through the OpenAI API and/or Azure OpenAI, with an understanding of Chat Completions and Responses APIs, function calling, structured outputs, embeddings, and rate limits.
• Practical experience with Azure AI Foundry, including model deployment, prompt flow, evaluations, and content safety.
• Experience building browser automation workflows or web agents using Playwright.
• A solid foundation in text classification and machine learning, with experience using scikit-learn, PyTorch, or Hugging Face models.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements and experience handling PHI or other regulated data.
• Experience developing or integrating REST APIs using FastAPI or Node.js, along with proficiency in Git, Docker, and CI/CD practices.Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with agent frameworks such as Semantic Kernel, LangChain/LangGraph, AutoGen, or the OpenAI Agents SDK, and familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Experience with vector search tools and stores such as Azure AI Search, pgvector, or FAISS.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, HITRUST, or GDPR requirements.
