Role Overview

KPMG in India is seeking an experienced ESG and Sustainability professional to support and deliver client engagements across sustainability strategy, ESG reporting, sustainable supply chains, responsible sourcing, digital sustainability solutions, and nature-related sustainability initiatives. The role requires strong analytical, research, stakeholder management, report-writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to work across multiple industries and complex sustainability challenges.

Key Responsibilities

ESG Strategy & Sustainability Advisory

  • Lead and support ESG and sustainability consulting engagements for clients across sectors.
  • Develop sustainability strategies, ESG roadmaps, climate action plans, and transformation programs.
  • Conduct sustainability research, benchmarking, maturity assessments, and materiality assessments.
  • Support clients in aligning with global ESG frameworks and disclosure requirements.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, proposals, and client deliverables.

ESG Reporting & Disclosure

  • Support ESG reporting and disclosure engagements using frameworks such as GRI, TCFD, CDP, ISSB, CSRD, SASB, TNFD, and BRSR.
  • Assist clients in enhancing ESG data management, reporting processes, and governance structures.
  • Conduct gap assessments and support implementation of reporting requirements.

Sustainable Supply Chains & Responsible Sourcing

  • Support responsible sourcing and sustainable procurement initiatives.
  • Conduct supplier assessments, value-chain mapping, and ESG due diligence reviews.
  • Advise clients on sustainable sourcing strategies and supply-chain sustainability programs.
  • Evaluate supply-chain traceability mechanisms and technology-enabled traceability solutions.
  • Assist clients in identifying ESG risks and opportunities across their supply chains.

Digital Sustainability & Data Analytics

  • Apply data analytics, digital technologies, and AI-enabled solutions to sustainability challenges.
  • Support ESG data collection, validation, visualization, and reporting initiatives.
  • Develop insights using sustainability datasets and digital tools.
  • Work with technology-driven ESG and sustainability solutions to improve decision-making and performance management.

Nature, Biodiversity & Blue Economy

  • Contribute to projects related to biodiversity, water stewardship, natural capital, circular economy, and sustainable resource management.
  • Support assessments related to marine and coastal sustainability, nature-related risks, and ecosystem impacts.
  • Conduct research and policy assessments on emerging nature-related sustainability topics.
  • Assist organizations in integrating nature-positive considerations into strategy and operations.

Qualifications

  • MBA/PGDM in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Climate Change, Natural Resource Management, Public Policy, Development Studies, or related disciplines.
  • Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Forestry, Marine Sciences, Economics, or related fields preferred.

Experience Required

  • 1 to 6 years of experience in ESG consulting, sustainability advisory, climate advisory, responsible sourcing, sustainable supply chains, or related domains.
  • Experience delivering sustainability strategy, benchmarking, reporting, and implementation projects.
  • Experience engaging with corporate clients and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
