Position : SAP Joule AI Developer

Location: Pune/Nagpur, Maharashtra (Onsite, 5 days a week)

Duration: Full time

Shift: UK Shift (02.00 PM - 11.00 PM IST)

Experience: 7-10 years mandatory

Job Description:

Experience: 5+ years in SAP development, with hands-on experience in AI and SAP Joule preferred

Domain: SAP BTP, Generative AI, SAP S/4HANA, Enterprise AI

Position Summary:

  • We are seeking an experienced SAP Joule AI Developer with a strong SAP technical background to design, develop, and implement AI-powered enterprise solutions using SAP Joule and the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). The ideal candidate will have experience in SAP application development, SAP S/4HANA integration, SAP BTP services, generative AI, Joule Studio, and intelligent automation.
  • The candidate will work closely with SAP functional consultants, enterprise architects, business stakeholders, to build conversational AI experiences, intelligent workflows, and context-aware business applications that enhance productivity and streamline business processes across SAP landscapes.

Key Responsibilities:

SAP Joule and AI Development:

  • Design and develop AI-powered business solutions leveraging SAP Joule and relevant SAP AI capabilities.
  • Configure and extend Joule capabilities to support enterprise business processes and conversational user experiences.
  • Develop and enhance AI-assisted workflows, business scenarios, and contextual interactions within SAP applications.
  • Explore and implement SAP-supported generative AI capabilities, including SAP AI Core, SAP AI Launchpad, and generative AI services where applicable.
  • Apply prompt engineering, grounding, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and responsible AI practices where appropriate to the solution architecture.
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, relevance, security, and business usability.SAP Technical Development ( good to have past experience in )
  • Develop and extend SAP applications using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • Build application services, APIs, and integrations using SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and SAPUI5/Fiori elements where applicable.
  • Develop backend services using Node.js, Java, or ABAP, depending on project architecture.
  • Work with SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba, or other SAP enterprise applications as required.
  • Use ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), CDS views, OData services, and REST APIs where relevant.
  • Develop secure, scalable, and maintainable extensions following SAP clean-core principles.SAP BTP Integration and Architecture:
  • Integrate AI capabilities with SAP business applications and enterprise data sources.
  • Leverage SAP Build, SAP Build Process Automation, and workflow services where suitable for AI-enabled business processes.Collaboration and Delivery:
  • Collaborate with SAP functional teams across modules such as Finance (FI/CO), Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), Procurement, HR, and Supply Chain.
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs, AI use cases, and implementation plans.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, technical design sessions, code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Prepare technical documentation, deployment guides, and knowledge-transfer materials.
  • Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies and established software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience developing, extending, or integrating SAP Joule capabilities.
  • Experience with SAP Joule Studio, Joule skills, or custom AI agent development, where applicable to the target SAP environment.
  • Experience with SAP AI Core, SAP AI Launchpad, SAP Generative AI Hub, or related SAP AI services.
  • Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector search, embeddings, and enterprise knowledge grounding.
  • Experience with SAP Integration Suite, SAP Build Process Automation, and event-driven integrations.
  • Exposure to SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Datasphere, or other enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud deployment practices.
  • Relevant SAP certifications in SAP BTP, SAP development, or SAP AI technologies.

Technical Skills:

  • SAP Technologies: SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP ECC, ABAP, ABAP RAP, CDS Views, OData, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, SAP CAP. ( Good to have as past experience)
  • AI and Generative AI: SAP Joule, SAP Joule Studio, LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, AI agents, AI orchestration, responsible AI. (Must have)
  • SAP AI Services: SAP AI Core, SAP AI Launchpad, SAP Generative AI Hub, and other applicable SAP AI services. (Must have)
  • Programming: ABAP, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Java, SQL, and Python where applicable.

Expected Deliverables:

  • Deliver secure and reliable AI-enabled solutions aligned with SAP business processes.
  • Improve user productivity through effective conversational interfaces and intelligent automation.
  • Successfully integrate SAP Joule-related capabilities with SAP and non-SAP enterprise systems.
  • Maintain performance, scalability, maintainability, and compliance with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Deliver high-quality code, documentation, testing, and production-ready implementations.
