The GOSO IBU Incentives Consultant / Sr. Consultant works closely with the GOSO India team and IBU affiliates to deliver Incentive Compensation (IC) work across an assigned hub/affiliate book of work. The role advises business partners and provides analytical insight that enables sound, data-driven decision-making and improved field and customer outcomes. The person draws on IC domain expertise and cross-functional collaboration — and increasingly on AI-enabled tools and modern data platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Claude/other GenAI applications — to accelerate delivery, strengthen quality, and surface insights that would otherwise take considerably longer to produce manually. The role reports to the Global / IBU Incentives Capabilities leader and partners closely with other GOSO Leads to embed best practices across the function.

The IC Portfolio spans Incentive Plan Design & Quota Setting, IC Payout Calculations, Budget Analysis, Eligibility Processing, IC Contests/Award Programs, and IC Reporting & Analytics.

Portfolio Delivery

  • Owns delivery of the assigned book of work for a hub/affiliate portfolio, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality across the IC portfolio (Plan Design, Payout, Budget, Eligibility, Contests, Reporting).
  • Partners with Incentives Leads to build and execute the Demand Plan, sequencing work to meet affiliate priorities.
  • Adjusts work plans in response to shifting priorities, applying structured change control.
  • Collaborates with internal team members and external/vendor partners to achieve shared delivery goals; as experience grows, takes on informal guidance of colleagues working through complex or ambiguous problems.
  • Identifies the root cause of delivery issues and resolves them, escalating where appropriate.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to simplify or automate recurring work — increasingly applying AI/GenAI tools (e.g., Claude) and modern data platforms (Databricks, AWS, Microsoft Fabric) to reduce manual effort, shorten turnaround time, and strengthen quality control.
  • Supports change management and system implementation activities for IC tools and platforms.
  • Reports progress and results of assigned work to leadership on a regular cadence.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintains IC BRDs, Design Documents, SOPs, and QC checklists to current standards; increasingly uses AI tools to draft, structure, and quality-check documentation — applying sound judgment to review and validate AI-assisted output before it is finalized.
  • Supports the review/approval process for documents and deliverables, reconciling reviewer feedback and resolving open items.
  • Builds and manages project plans for assigned work; contributes to, and with growing experience leads, specific workstreams within larger cross-functional projects.
  • Applies quality standards when reviewing project documents, designs, and final deliverables.
  • Surfaces process improvement and automation opportunities, using data — and, where relevant, AI-assisted analysis — to identify patterns and inefficiencies in current ways of working.

Stakeholder Management

  • Manages timelines and coordinates with team members and partners across time zones and geographies.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors communication plans for assigned work.
  • Communicates project and program status clearly and proactively to India Leads and IBU stakeholders, using data visualization and, where useful, AI-assisted summarization to make updates concise and decision-ready.
  • Anticipates project/program issues and escalates appropriately with India leadership, bringing forward well-reasoned recommendations alongside any concerns raised.

Technical & Peer Development

  • Continues to build depth in IC domain knowledge, strategic thinking, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Shares technical knowledge and best practices with peers; more experienced team members take on structured technical coaching and mentoring of newer joiners.
  • Builds fluency in the function's evolving technology stack — including SQL/Python-based analysis, data visualization tools, and AI/GenAI applications (e.g., Claude) — using these tools to augment, not replace, sound business judgment.
  • Contributes to a team culture aligned with Team Lilly values — inclusion, innovation, acceleration, delivery, integrity, excellence, and respect for people.
  • Ensures own work is compliant with company policies, procedures, and regulations, and supports peers in doing the same.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience (Consultant level) or 5–7 years of relevant experience (Sr. Consultant level) in Incentive Compensation and Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE) domains.
  • Working knowledge of Incentive Plan Design & Quota Setting, IC Payout Calculations, Budget Analysis, HR Eligibility Processing, IC Contests/Award Programs, and IC Reporting & Analytics — with depth and independence expected to increase with experience.
  • Proficiency in a coding/query language (e.g., SQL, Python, VBA) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI); comfort using AI/GenAI tools (e.g., Claude) to accelerate analysis, coding, and documentation is expected, with hands-on experience building reusable or automated solutions with these tools valued at the more senior level.
  • Working familiarity with modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, AWS, Microsoft Fabric), or a demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly on new data tools as the function's technology stack evolves.
  • Ability to analyze upstream and downstream impact of system changes and organizational change management (OCM) activities.
  • Detailed knowledge of pharmaceutical data and business rules.
  • Ability to generate incentive analytics that are genuinely useful to stakeholders across management levels and that drive continuous improvement in incentive plan effectiveness.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

Other Information / Additional Preferences

  • Expertise in industry standards, best practices, compliance considerations, and regulatory requirements relevant to IC.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation/influence, project management, and critical-thinking skills, applied effectively in team, cross-functional, and global settings; at the more senior level, a demonstrated ability to bring others along and shape outcomes beyond one's own workstream.
  • High motivation and genuine curiosity for finding creative, efficient solutions — including proactively exploring how AI and automation can improve the way IC work gets done.
  • Experience with Javelin/Zaidyn Incentive tools.
  • Exposure to, or interest in, enterprise data platforms (Databricks, AWS, Microsoft Fabric) and GenAI tools (e.g., Claude) as Lilly's Incentives technology stack continues to evolve; candidates who have applied these in a prior role, project, or self-directed learning will stand out.
