Lead Business Analyst

Key Responsibilities

Backlog & Delivery Management

  • Partner closely with Product Owners to manage and prioritize squad backlogs.
  • Ensure user stories meet Definition of Ready (DoR) standards before development.
  • Facilitate story grooming, estimation, and planning sessions.
  • Support sprint planning and sprint goal definition.
  • Track dependencies, risks, and impediments impacting delivery.

Business Analysis Leadership

  • Lead analysis activities across Business Lending and nCino journeys.
  • Create, refine, and review high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform comprehensive impact assessments for proposed changes.
  • Ensure requirements are fully documented, maintained, and approved in JIRA and Confluence.
  • Mentor and guide Business Analysts within the squad.
  • Drive consistency in BA artefacts, documentation standards, and best practices.

Stakeholder Management & Workshops

  • Facilitate workshops with business users, SMEs, technology teams, and senior stakeholders.
  • Elicit requirements and align stakeholders on business objectives and value outcomes.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and provide clear communication throughout delivery.
  • Document decisions, actions, and follow-up activities.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Lead Business Acceptance Testing (BAT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  • Coordinate test planning, execution, defect management, and resolution.
  • Support creation of business scenarios, test cases, and readiness criteria.
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet business requirements and quality expectations.

Agile Delivery Support

  • Support Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, refinement sessions, reviews, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
  • Remove blockers and drive resolution of delivery challenges.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Production Support & Hypercare

  • Assist production support teams in triaging and analyzing production issues.
  • Provide functional clarification on business processes, requirements, and expected system behaviours.
  • Support root cause analysis and issue resolution activities.

Domain Expertise

  • Strong experience in Lending domain
  • Exposure to Mortgage domain (preferred)
  • Understanding of loan lifecycle: Origination, Underwriting, Servicing

Essential

Required Skills & Experience

✅ 10+ years of Business Analysis experience within Banking or Financial Services

✅ Strong Business Lending / Commercial Lending domain experience

✅ Hands-on experience with nCino Loan Origination Platform

✅ Proven experience leading Business Analysts within Agile delivery teams

✅ Expertise in:

  • Requirements gathering
  • User story creation
  • Process mapping
  • Impact analysis
  • Stakeholder management
  • BAT/UAT coordination
  • JIRA & Confluence

✅ Strong understanding of:

  • Loan Origination
  • Credit Processes
  • Lending Workflows
  • Customer Journeys
  • Data Lineage & Integration

✅ Experience working with:

  • Agile / Scrum methodologies
  • Cross-functional delivery teams
  • Senior business stakeholders
