Backend Engineer (Node.js / APIs)

About The Role

You will build and own the APIs, data layer and integrations that everything else is built on: the admin panels, client portals and automations our clients depend on. This is backend work that has to stay correct and fast as more clients and more data come in.

What you will do

• Design and build APIs that the frontend, mobile apps and automations all rely on.
• Model data so it stays clean and fast to query as it grows.
• Build integrations with the CRMs, help desks and messaging platforms our clients already use.
• Write code with proper error handling, logging and tests, not just the happy path.
• Review code and help keep the backend consistent as more people build on it.

You might be a good fit if

• You have built and shipped production APIs with Node.js and TypeScript.
• You are comfortable with MongoDB or a similar database, and know when to denormalize and when not to.
• You think about failure modes: what happens when a third-party API is slow or down.
• You can work independently and communicate clearly in writing.

Nice to have

• Experience with queues, webhooks or event-driven systems.
• Experience building integrations with CRMs, help desks or messaging platforms.
