Summary

UST is looking for Sr. Full stack Developer (Mern Stack)

The Opportunity

  • We are seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer with deep expertise in React, Node.js, and RESTful/GraphQL API development.
  • This role offers the opportunity to lead technical initiatives, architect scalable solutions, and mentor junior developers.
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building high-performance applications and demonstrating architectural excellence.
  • Experience with Backstage (Internal Developer Platform) is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Frontend Development Design and develop scalable, high-performance React applications with modern UI/UX principles Implement responsive design patterns and optimize component architecture for maintainability and performance Manage application state effectively using Redux, Context API, or similar state management solutions
  • Backend Development Build robust and scalable APIs using Node.js and modern frameworks (Express, Nest.js, etc.)
  • Design RESTful or GraphQL APIs with proper error handling, validation, and security practices Implement database optimization, caching strategies, and performance tuning Technical Leadership Lead architectural discussions and design reviews for complex technical solutions Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to maintain code quality standards Collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements into technical specifications DevOps & Quality Implement CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud deployment strategies
  • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with React (hooks, component design, performance optimization)
  • 3+ years of backend development with Node.js and strong understanding of asynchronous programming
  • Solid expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs or GraphQL services
  • Strong proficiency with modern development tools (Git, npm/yarn, webpack, Babel)
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software design patterns and architectural principles (SOLID, DDD)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Backstage (Internal Developer Platform) or similar developer tooling platforms
  • Familiarity with TypeScript and strong type system understanding
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and serverless architectures Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch)
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, React Testing Library)
  • Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka) and event-driven architecture Knowledge of web security best practices (OWASP, authentication, authorization)
