ABOUT US:

Infosys BPM is establishing a dedicated actuarial consulting practice to serve insurance clients globally. This is a foundational role in a practice that is actively being built, offering direct client exposure, intellectual variety, and the rare opportunity to help shape a growing team from the ground up.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a mid to senior P&C pricing actuary who is partly qualified and keen to grow in a consulting environment. The role spans pricing engagements across personal and commercial lines, business development support, and broader P&C actuarial work as the practice expands. Because this is a new practice build, you will be expected to contribute wherever the work takes you, bringing both technical rigour and client-facing confidence to every engagement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver P&C pricing projects for insurance and reinsurance clients, covering both personal and commercial lines as engagements arise.
  • Build, review, and challenge rating models, technical price benchmarks, and risk segmentation frameworks.
  • Act as a trusted actuarial point of contact for clients, managing day-to-day queries, deliverables, and expectations with professionalism.
  • Support business development activity, including contributing to proposals, presentations, and scoping conversations with prospective clients.
  • Adapt to the needs of a growing practice, taking on reserving, capital, analytics, or other P&C actuarial work as required.
  • Translate complex actuarial outputs into clear insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing methods, workflows, and model governance across client
  • engagements.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, client presentations, and technical documentation to a consulting standard.
  • Collaborate with internal data, technology, and consulting teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Travel to client sites as required, across India and occasionally internationally

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Partly qualified actuary, actively progressing toward fellowship with IFoA, IAI, SoA, or an equivalent recognised body.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a P&C actuarial role within insurance, reinsurance, or actuarial consulting.
  • Substantive experience in P&C pricing; background in personal lines, commercial lines, or both is equally valued.
  • Pricing experience supporting clients in UK, European, or US insurance markets is preferred; exposure to Lloyd's or international reinsurance treaty business is a plus.
  • Comfortable operating in client-facing settings: presenting findings, handling questions, and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience or genuine interest in business development, proposal writing, or commercial conversations.
  • Proficient in Excel and at least one actuarial or analytical programming language; strong data handling skills.
  • Self-directed and resilient, with the flexibility to take on varied workstreams in a practice that is still being established.
  • Willingness to travel for client engagements when required

Preferred Skills :

  • Prior actuarial consulting or advisory experience is a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to reserving, capital modelling, or IFRS 17 in addition to pricing.
  • Experience supporting or leading proposal and business development responses.
  • Familiarity with model governance, documentation standards, and peer review processes.

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Confident communicator, able to present technical actuarial work clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • Commercially aware, with genuine curiosity about insurance market dynamics and client business challenges.
  • Adaptable and proactive, thriving in environments where priorities shift and the scope of work evolves.
  • Collaborative team player who also takes clear personal ownership of quality and delivery.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, motivated by the opportunity to help build something from the ground up.
