Role Description This full-time, on-site Software Engineer role is based in Puducherry and focuses on backend development using Python and FastAPI. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining REST APIs, building scalable backend services, and integrating SQL databases for reliable data storage and retrieval. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, secure, and testable code; optimizing application performance; troubleshooting and resolving backend issues; and collaborating with frontend developers, data teams, and other stakeholders. The engineer will also work on AI integration tasks, such as connecting AI models to backend services, managing model inference APIs, and ensuring smooth deployment within existing systems. Documentation of technical solutions, adherence to coding standards, and participation in code reviews are integral to this position.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, with focus on Python, FastAPI, REST APIs, and SQL-based data handling.
• Proficiency in Software Development practices, such as version control (e.g., Git), testing, debugging, and deployment workflows.
• Solid Programming skills and familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) for building modular, maintainable systems.
• Experience or strong interest in AI integration, including working with AI/ML models and related APIs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work on-site in Puducherry, collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, and communicate technical ideas clearly.
• Knowledge of security best practices, performance tuning, and cloud or container technologies (e.g., Docker, cloud services) is an advantage.
