About the role

We're hiring a Technical Solutions Consultant to sit with our customers, find where their work is slow, manual or broken, AND fix it. You'll diagnose the problem, design the fix, AND build it yourself. The solutions are ordinary software (internal tools, automations, dashboards, simple apps); AI is how you build them, using AI coding assistants ("vibe coding") and no-code tools.

This is a business role first. Spotting a costly problem and framing the right fix comes first, but you also need enough coding knowledge to build, debug and maintain what you ship. Engineers are on hand when a build outgrows your tools.

What you'll do:

Discovery: Run conversations with founders, ops leads and front-line teams to understand how their business actually runs, not just how they say it runs.

Process diagnosis: Map current workflows, find bottlenecks, handoffs, duplicate data entry and spreadsheet sprawl, and quantify the cost in hours, errors or lost revenue.

Solution design: Propose fixes ranked by impact and effort. Know when the answer is a better process, an off-the-shelf tool, or something custom.

Build: Ship working prototypes and internal tools using AI coding assistants (Claude, Cursor, Lovable, Replit and similar) and automation platforms (n8n, Zapier, Make, Airtable).

Rollout: Get the people who use it to adopt it. Train them, collect feedback, iterate.

Measure: Track whether the fix saved the time or money you promised, and report it back plainly.

Feed the business: Spot repeatable problems across customers and bring them back as product or service opportunities.

What we're looking for:

  • 2+ years in a business-facing role: business development, consulting, operations, sales engineering, or running a small business.
  • Strong business acumen. You can read a P&L-level problem, ask why until you hit the root cause, and tell a real pain from a nice-to-have.
  • Clear communicator with non-technical people. You can explain a solution to a shop owner and to a CFO.
  • Systems thinking. You naturally draw a process as boxes and arrows and see where it breaks.
  • Working coding knowledge. You can read and change code in at least one language (Python or JavaScript preferred), work with APIs, JSON and basic SQL, and debug what an AI assistant writes rather than just pasting it.
  • Hands-on with AI coding tools. You have built and shipped at least one working tool, automation or app yourself.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, owning outcomes end to end, and working directly with customers.
  • You don't need to be a full software engineer. You do need to understand what the code is doing.

Nice to have

  • Experience with a web framework, databases, or deploying apps (Vercel, Supabase, AWS).
  • Experience with CRMs and ops tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Notion, Airtable).
  • A portfolio of things you've built: automations, internal tools, small apps.
  • Domain depth in an industry we serve.
  • Experience pricing or scoping projects for clients.

Hiring process

1. Intro call (30 min): Your background and one business problem you've solved.

2. Discovery role-play (45 min): We play a business owner with a messy operation. You ask questions, find the real problem, and propose a fix.

3. Build exercise (take-home, \~4 hours): Turn your proposal into a working prototype using any AI or no-code tools you like.

4. Walkthrough (60 min): Demo it to us as if we were the customer, including trade-offs and what you'd do next.
