Role Description

We are looking for a hands-on Software Development Team Lead to lead and contribute directly to the development of a SaaS-based software platform. It is not a purely managerial role. The successful candidate must be a strong full-stack developer who is comfortable actively coding, designing solutions, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and building key parts of the platform while also coordinating and supporting the development team. You will take ownership of day-to-day software development activities, help translate product requirements into technical solutions, coordinate development priorities, review code, support releases, and ensure that the platform remains secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable. You will also work closely with product, QA/RA, Sales, and Customer-facing teams to understand business and customer requirements, evaluate feedback, and prioritize product improvements. Experience developing SaaS platforms, document management systems, workflow applications, eQMS platforms, compliance software, enterprise management systems, or similar business applications would be a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the software development team while remaining hands-on with coding and technical implementation.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve both frontend and backend functionality.
  • Contribute to system architecture, technical planning, and key development decisions.
  • Translate product and business requirements into clear technical tasks, priorities, and development plans.
  • Review code, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide guidance and support to other developers.
  • Develop and maintain APIs, databases, integrations, authentication, user roles and permissions, workflows, and document management functionality.
  • Support the development of AI-enabled features, including LLM and RAG-based integrations.
  • Work closely with Sales and Customer teams to understand customer needs, gather feedback, and prioritize product improvements and development requests.
  • Coordinate testing, bug fixing, deployments, releases, and continuous platform improvements.
  • Support and improve DevOps and CI/CD processes.
  • Ensure the platform remains secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable.
  • Take ownership of technical delivery, track development progress, and communicate key risks, blockers, or delays.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience, including at least 1-2 years in a technical lead or software development team leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on full-stack development experience.
  • Experience managing and coordinating software development projects, priorities, and releases.
  • Experience with modern web applications, APIs, databases, Git, and cloud-based deployment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Experience with some of the following technologies and areas would be an advantage:AI/LLM/RAG: LLM integrations, RAG-based applications, AI APIs
  • Frontend: React.js, Next.js, JavaScript, TypeScript
  • Backend: Python, Django, FastAPI, Node.js
  • Database: PostgreSQL
  • Cloud: AWS or similar cloud platforms
  • DevOps: Git, CI/CD, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes
  • Testing: Pytest, Jest, Cypress, Playwright, or similar testing frameworks
  • Experience in healthcare, MedTech, life sciences, or other regulated industries would be an advantage, but is not required.

Language

Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.

Location

Remote - preference for candidates based in India, Nepal, or elsewhere in South Asia. Candidates from other locations are also encouraged to apply.
