About the Role

Join our core engineering team to build robust, high-performance features that directly impact

820 million monthly active users. As a Backend SE I, you will take end-to-end ownership of

product features, write clean and maintainable code, and design systems capable of scaling to

100K+ Requests Per Second (RPS). We foster a culture of continuous learning, rigorous testing,

Key Responsibilities

• Feature Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and

deliver scalable product features for our massive user base.

• System Ownership: Own features end-to-end, ensuring top-notch quality, high

availability, and robust test coverage.

• Code Quality & Reviews: Write clean, modular code with proper unit, functional, and

regression tests. Participate in code reviews to maintain company engineering standards.

• High-Scale Engineering: Architect solutions designed to handle extreme scale, targeting

100K+ RPS.

What We Are Looking For (Must-Haves)

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical equivalent.
• Experience: 1–3 years of medium to large-scale server-side software development

experience.

• CS Fundamentals: Strong grasp of Data Structures, algorithmic time complexity, and

database concepts.

• Programming Proficiency: Solid knowledge of at least one backend language (e.g., Java,

Python, Node, or Clojure).

• AI-Assisted Development: Hands-on experience leveraging AI coding assistants (e.g.,

Cursor) for rapid code generation, context lookup, and refactoring.

• OS Knowledge: Familiarity with POSIX-compliant Operating Systems (development on

macOS, deployment on GNU/Linux).

• Testing & Version Control: Proven experience writing comprehensive Unit, Functional,

and Regression tests; proficient with Git for distributed version control.

• Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills paired with strong work

ethics, high ownership, and a collaborative team spirit.

Nice-to-Haves

• Functional Programming: Familiarity with functional programming paradigms (we use

Clojure).

• Scale Databases & Tools: Hands-on experience working at scale with any of the

following: YugabyteDB, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, or PostgreSQL.

• Performance & Reliability: Experience benchmarking systems for performance tuning

and implementing failure-detection mechanisms.
