About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer with strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, cloud technologies, and modern software engineering practices.

This role requires experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Extreme Programming (XP) as part of software development. This is a development role, not a QA or test automation role.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Follow TDD practices, including writing tests before production code, implementing functionality, and refactoring.
• Apply XP practices such as pair programming, continuous integration, refactoring, and incremental development.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases and caching technologies.
• Develop reliable, maintainable, and high-quality production code.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and other stakeholders.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.
• Develop and maintain cloud-based applications using AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.
• Work with event-driven technologies such as Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
• Monitor application health and performance using observability tools such as Datadog, ADX, or similar tools.
• Follow coding quality and security practices using tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, or Contrast.Mandatory Skills
• 6–8 years of software development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java / J2EE
• Strong experience with Spring Boot
• Experience developing REST APIs / Microservices
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on TDD experience
• Practical exposure to Extreme Programming (XP) practices
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or another modern cloud platform
• Experience with relational databases and exposure to NoSQL / caching
• Strong understanding of OOP, software design principles, and core computer science concepts
• Experience with Git and CI/CD
• Good experience with Maven or GradleGood to Have
• Kafka or similar messaging/event-streaming technologies

TDD experience should be from a software development perspective. Candidates whose experience is primarily in QA, manual testing, test automation, or SDET roles would not be suitable for this position.
