Software Engineer II
Power Platform & Copilot Developer
Who We Are
Kaplan Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) is part of Kaplan, a global education organisation. Our teams use technology, data and responsible AI to improve operational effectiveness and deliver high-quality experiences for students, customers and employees.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Power Platform and Copilot Developer to join the Kaplan ANZ Engineering Pod based in Bengaluru. The role will work as part of the ANZ engineering capability and report to the Senior Solutions Architect / Team Leader of the Bengaluru Engineering Pod.
The successful candidate will design, build and support enterprise solutions across Microsoft Power Platform and the broader Microsoft Copilot ecosystem. They will act as a technical adviser to business and technology teams, recommending the most appropriate use of Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Dataverse, connectors, APIs and related Microsoft services.
A key focus will be transitioning workflows, applications and agents from Personal Development Environments and other non-production environments into governed test and production environments. The role will also integrate Copilot Studio agents with Power Automate, enterprise data sources, APIs and Microsoft 365 capabilities, while considering governance, security, licensing, capacity and credit consumption.
The role will collaborate closely with ANZ stakeholders and globally distributed technology teams.
This is an individual-contributor role suited to someone who can take ownership of assigned work, clarify requirements where needed, design practical solution options, deliver outcomes with minimal day-to-day guidance, and proactively suggest improvements that align with Kaplan ANZ standards, priorities and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution advisory and architecture: Assess business and technical requirements and recommend the most appropriate Power Platform, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Azure, API or integration solution.
- Power Platform development: Design, develop, test and maintain workflows, Model-Driven Apps, Dataverse solutions, custom connectors, Power Automate cloud flows, approvals and related components.
- Copilot Studio and agent development: Design, configure, test, deploy and support Copilot Studio agents, including instructions, knowledge sources, prompts, tools, actions, agent flows, authentication and escalation pathways.
- Copilot and platform integration: Integrate agents and Power Platform solutions with Dataverse, SharePoint, Microsoft 365 services, approved enterprise systems, custom connectors and external APIs.
- Environment and production deployment: Move applications, workflows, agents, connections, environment variables and associated components from Personal Development Environments and other development environments into governed test and production environments.
- Application lifecycle management: Package developments within Power Platform solutions and apply source control, deployment pipelines, release management, testing, rollback and CI/CD practices.
- Governance, security and compliance: Apply Power Platform and Copilot governance standards, including environment strategy, security roles, Data Loss Prevention policies, connector controls, service account management, access controls, auditing, monitoring and data protection requirements.
- Licensing, capacity and credit management: Understand and advise on Power Platform, AI Builder and Copilot Studio licensing and consumption models. Monitor capacity and credit usage, identify cost or capacity risks and recommend allocation and optimisation approaches.
- Operational support: Troubleshoot production issues relating to apps, flows, agents, connectors, APIs, authentication, permissions, capacity and deployment.
- Technical documentation: Produce solution designs, architecture diagrams, deployment instructions, support documentation, configuration records and operational handover materials.
- User enablement: Provide guidance, training and support to makers, developers, administrators and business users, promoting safe and effective adoption.
- Cross-regional collaboration: Contribute to design reviews, technical standards, solution reuse and knowledge sharing across ANZ and globally distributed teams.
- Continuous improvement: Maintain current knowledge of Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 Copilot, AI Builder, Azure AI, licensing, capacity and emerging agent capabilities.
- Independent delivery and solution ownership: Own assigned tasks from analysis through design, build, testing, deployment and support with minimal guidance, escalating risks early and proposing practical options when requirements, constraints or dependencies are unclear.
- Innovation and continuous solution improvement: Identify opportunities to improve business processes, reuse components, reduce manual effort, strengthen governance and introduce practical automation or Copilot-enabled ideas that create measurable value.About You
