What does a successful Product Owner do at Fiserv?

As a Product Owner, you will lead product delivery and business capability development for strategic Banking and Payments platforms. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, engineering teams, QA, and operations teams to define product vision, prioritize requirements, and ensure successful delivery of customer-centric solutions. You will serve as the bridge between business and technology, translating complex requirements into actionable user stories that drive business value.

What You Will Do

• Own and manage the product backlog for assigned business capabilities.
• Define, refine, and prioritize epics, features, and user stories.
• Create detailed acceptance criteria and business rules for development teams.
• Collaborate with business SMEs, architects, engineering, QA, and operations teams to gather and clarify requirements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and daily standups.
• Validate completed functionality against acceptance criteria and business requirements.
• Manage requirement changes, prioritization decisions, and delivery dependencies.
• Communicate product roadmap, delivery status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
• Support payment processing, card lifecycle, transaction processing, authorization, limits, controls, and customer servicing capabilities.
• Partner with technical teams to ensure scalable, secure, compliant, and operationally sound solutions.

What You Will Need To Have

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in Banking, Payments, or Financial Services.
• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Analyst, or Senior Business Analyst within Agile environments.
• Strong experience with Product Backlog Management and User Story development.
• Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum delivery models.
• Knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Experience working directly with cross-functional Agile teams.

What Would Be Great To Have

• Experience in Credit Card, Debit Card, Prepaid Card, or Payment Processing platforms.
• Understanding of Visa and Mastercard transaction lifecycles.
• Knowledge of Authorization, Clearing, and Settlement processes.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, and Cloud-native applications.
• Product Owner certification such as CSPO or PSPO.
• Experience supporting digital transformation, modernization, or large-scale financial services programs.
