Qualification | Experience

  • B.E./ B.Tech. (Chemical) + MBA from a reputed institute; strong quantitative orientation with 5-8 years

Key Responsibilities

Raw Material & Market Analytics

  • Identify and track the demand, supply and price drivers of key raw materials, including feedstock balances, capacity additions and closures, tariffs and duties in consuming geographies, trade flows, and availability of substitutes.
  • Build and maintain statistical and econometric models of raw material price drivers to forecast prices and demand-supply scenarios; back-test and refine models regularly.
  • Identify price patterns and trends, and present findings to business and procurement teams, highlighting current and emerging risks to topline and bottom line.
  • Recommend procurement options across short-term (1–3 months), medium-term (3–6 months) and long-term (over 6 months) horizons, based on model outputs and market intelligence.
  • Track end-market and customer-industry trends for key finished products to support demand planning and capacity-utilization decisions.Financial & Commercial Analysis
  • Build and maintain scenario-based financial models (payback, IRR, NPV, sensitivity) for projects, new products and initiatives.
  • Analyze market, cost and competitor data to recommend target prices for finished products and support pricing decisions.
  • Support business case development for new products and projects, including viability assessment and expected returns.
  • Track the financial impact of margin-improvement initiatives such as sourcing, by-product valorization and grade-mix changes.Competitive Intelligence
  • Build and maintain a competitor database for existing and new products, in collaboration with marketing, business development and procurement teams.
  • Conduct strategic and financial analysis of competitors (capacities, costs, financials, announcements, investments) to infer their strategic intent.
  • Prepare competitor reports that assess the likely impact on the business and propose risk-mitigation actions.Data Management, Dashboards & Reporting
  • Establish and maintain structured databases and data-collection systems covering market, price, trade and competitor data from primary and secondary sources, designed for fast retrieval.
  • Clean, validate and reconcile data from market reports, trade databases and internal systems; work with IT and business teams to resolve data-quality issues at source.
  • Automate recurring analyses and build dashboards that give leadership a clear view of trends, patterns and forecasts.
  • Prepare concise, decision-oriented reports and presentations for the Head – Strategy and leadership teamTechnical Competencies

Demand, supply and price analytics; statistical and econometric modelling and forecasting; financial modelling and scenario analysis; competitive intelligence; data management and visualisation. Advanced proficiency in Excel is essential; working knowledge of Python or R, Power BI or Tableau, and commodity and trade databases is preferred
