As our first dedicated DevOps engineer, you'll take primary ownership of our infrastructure and delivery processes while continuing to build backend services. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, roughly 70% DevOps and 30% backend engineering, working with our international engineering te

am.

Your first priority will be to understand our current setup, identify the biggest opportunities, and turn them into a practical improvement roadmap. Datadog is already in place. You'll establish CI/CD and infrastructure as code, and introduce containerization where it adds value. You'll help choose the tools and approach that fit our stage of gro

wth.

Qualifica

tions

Candidates should have at least 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform, or backend engineering with substantial hands-on responsibility for production infrastructure. Proven impact through previous work, demonstrating improvements you identified, prioritized, and personally delivered, including results and tradeoffs, is essential. Strong automation skills are required, including building CI/CD pipelines, managing infrastructure as code, and operating containers in production using tools such as GitHub Actions, Terraform, Docker, or equiva

lents.

Operational depth in cloud environments, Linux, networking, troubleshooting, monitoring, incident response, infrastructure security, and recovery is crucial. Backend experience in building and maintaining production services in PHP, Python, or Node.js, with strong SQL/MySQL skills—including indexing and safe schema migrations—is necessary. Clear communication skills to explain technical decisions, document work, share operational knowledge, and collaborate asynchronously across time zones are also imp
