Full Stack Developer
Job Description – Full Stack Developer
Experience: 4–6 years
Type: Full-time
Location: Bengaluru, with frequent GCC travel
About ALP
Angel Lane Partners (ALP) is a computational finance, data engineering and AI/ML firm with offices in Dubai, London, Bengaluru and Riyadh. We work with banks, financial institutions and government entities across the GCC.
Role Overview
You will build the web applications in the analytics and calculation platforms ALP delivers to financial-services clients. You will work end to end, from Python APIs and relational data models to React front ends where users enter data, run calculations, manage approvals and review results. You will work with data engineers, quant developers and analysts, and deliver production software for regulated clients.
Travel
The role is based in Bengaluru, with frequent travel to client sites in the GCC, sometimes for several weeks at a time. A valid passport is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end features using Python (Flask or FastAPI), relational databases and React.
- Design versioned REST APIs with request/response models, validation, error handling, pagination and OpenAPI documentation.
- Build front-end workflows: multi-period data-entry grids, multi-tab forms, editable tables with computed columns, client-side validation and results dashboards.
- Build reusable React components and handle state management, API integration, caching, loading states and error handling.
- Develop server-side workflows for maker-checker approvals, versioned parameters and reference data, configuration management and audit logging.
- Integrate with calculation engines, data pipelines and external systems through defined API and data contracts.
- Implement authentication (SSO, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, LDAP) and role-based access with row-level data scoping by user, region, customer or business unit.
- Generate and process Excel and CSV files (openpyxl, pandas) for imports, validation templates, reports and exports.
- Design and maintain database schemas, migrations, indexes and constraints; implement background and long-running tasks (Celery, RQ or equivalent).
- Write unit, integration, API and end-to-end tests; improve front-end rendering, API response times and query performance.
- Implement logging, monitoring, error tracking and health checks; support deployments, CI/CD, environment configuration and production troubleshooting on AWS and on client infrastructure.
- Take part in architecture and code reviews, release planning and documentation.
Required Skills
- 4–6 years building production full-stack web applications.
- Python with Flask, FastAPI or Django; REST/HTTP/JSON, authentication, authorisation and API versioning.
- React with TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML and CSS; hooks and reusable components.
- At least one state-management approach (Redux, Zustand, Context or React Query) and one build tool (Vite, Webpack or Next.js).
- A data-grid library such as AG Grid or TanStack Table.
- SQL and relational modelling; hands-on PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server, including migrations, indexing, query optimisation, transactions and concurrency.
- Form-heavy, workflow-driven or calculation-intensive applications with server- and client-side validation.
- Automated testing: pytest, Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright or Cypress.
- Git (branching, pull requests, code reviews) and CI/CD with environment-based configuration.
- Hands-on AWS experience deploying and running applications, such as EC2, ECS, RDS or S3.
- Secure coding: OWASP risks, input sanitisation and secrets management.
Preferred Skills
- Banking or financial-services applications (pricing, risk, regulatory reporting, reconciliation) where accuracy and reproducibility are critical.
- Maker-checker workflows, approval hierarchies, audit trails and effective-dated configuration.
- Enterprise identity providers, JWT, row-level security and business-unit data segregation.
- Redis, caching and message queues for asynchronous or scheduled jobs.
- Template-driven Excel and report generation.
- Docker; hosting on Linux or Windows Server behind Apache or Nginx.
- Databricks or Azure.
- Certifications in BI, ML, cloud or infrastructure.
- Observability tools such as Sentry, Prometheus, Grafana or OpenTelemetry.
- Material UI or a similar component library.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.
- At least one full-stack application taken from design through to production deployment; regulated or data-sensitive environments preferred.
- Able to work directly with product owners, analysts, data engineers, quant developers and client IT teams.
