Role Overview

As a Lead Backend Engineer at GoSuper, you’ll own and scale the backend systems and cloud infrastructure powering our AI-first EdTech products.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll architect scalable systems, drive DevOps, build real-time features, and mentor a growing team of engineers. Your work will directly impact thousands (soon millions) of learners around the world.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable backend systems and microservices
• Design and manage real-time systems (WebSockets, Kafka, RabbitMQ, BullMQ)
• Own API design and integrations across web, mobile, and partner platforms
• Optimize and manage SQL/NoSQL databases and Redis for caching
• Set up CI/CD pipelines and manage containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Maintain and scale cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP)
• Implement observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
• Mentor junior engineers and drive a high-quality engineering culture

Requirements

• 4–7 years of backend development experience
• Strong experience with Node.js (NestJS preferred)
• Proficient with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)
• Experience with Redis, SQL/NoSQL, and caching strategies
• Hands-on with WebSockets, Kafka, BullMQ, or RabbitMQ
• Familiarity with microservices and distributed architecture
• Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading small teams

Bonus Points

• Built and scaled SaaS or real-time chat platforms
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other IaC tools
• Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, ELK, Grafana)
• Exposure to RAG/LLM systems (LangChain, Vertex AI, LangGraph)
• Prior startup or 01 product development experience
