Senior Software Engineer

About PSI

PanScience Innovations (PSI) builds GenAI and software solutions for enterprise clients. We work in AI/ML, infrastructure, voice AI, and CRM. Our teams use AI coding tools (Claude Code) for most development work. We need people who make sure this work is correct, secure, and ready for production.

About the role

You are the Sr Software Engineer for multiple client projects. Developers and AI tools write the code. You make sure that the code is safe to merge and safe to run in production.

The programming language is not important. Your engineering judgment and your communication are important.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure every code pushed into git is properly reviewed by an AI tool. Ensure that you understand the code and the design and can explain the implementation to both technical and business users.
  • Design highly scalable software solutions that span across different verticals such as media, legal, healthcare etc.
  • Find defects in AI-generated code: security gaps, logic errors, missing error handling, and performance problems.
  • Define and maintain coding standards for each project. Keep them in the repository (for example, CLAUDE.md, lint rules, and review checklists).
  • Make sure that each service has correct authentication and authorization.
  • Develop re-usable software components and solutions that can be applied to different projects.
  • Identify risks to scalability, redundancy, and fault tolerance. Tell the CTO about design risks early.
  • Enforce version control practices: branching strategy, commit quality, pull request size, and release tags.
  • Make sure that projects have automated tests and a CI pipeline. Make sure that the pipeline blocks bad builds.
  • Explain technical problems to non-technical people in clear and simple language.
  • Guide junior developers. Help them write better prompts, specs, and code.
  • Solid understanding of AI models including running local ML/LLM models and benchmarking them for different use cases.

Required skills

  • Strong skill in a minimum of one programming language (for example, Java, Python, TypeScript, Go, or C#).
  • Good knowledge of secure coding: OWASP Top 10, input validation, secrets management, and least privilege.
  • Good knowledge of authentication and authorization: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, sessions, and RBAC.
  • Knowledge of scalability and reliability patterns: caching, queues, retries, idempotency, timeouts, and circuit breakers.
  • Knowledge of redundancy and fault tolerance: replicas, failover, backups, and health checks.
  • Strong Git skills: branching, rebasing, merge conflicts, and pull request reviews.
  • Experience with REST APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, and a minimum of one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Daily experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalent).
  • Very good spoken and written English.

Good to have

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with observability tools: logs, metrics, and tracing.
  • Experience with static analysis or security scanning tools (for example, SonarQube, Semgrep, or Snyk).
  • Experience on client-facing or multi-project work.
