Senior Fullstack Developer (MERN) — Team Lead

About the RoleWe’re hiring a Senior Fullstack Developer (MERN) who can own projects end-to-end — from client discovery through architecture, development, team leadership, and production launch. This is a hybrid IC + leadership role: you’ll write and review code, lead a small team, interface directly with US-based clients, and drive AI-augmented development practices across the team.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Ownership

  • Own full project lifecycle: requirement gathering → architecture → development → deployment → post-launch support
  • Design scalable system architecture for MERN-based applications (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js)
  • Make key technical decisions on stack, infrastructure, and integrations
  • Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure technical debt stays manageable
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead root-cause resolutionTeam Leadership
  • Lead and mentor a team of 3–8 developers (fullstack/frontend/backend)
  • Plan sprints, distribute tasks, and track delivery against timelines
  • Conduct 1:1s, performance feedback, and technical upskilling for the team
  • Act as the technical point of escalation for the teamClient & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead client discovery calls — translate business requirements into technical scope
  • Prepare and own client-facing documentation: SOWs, technical specs, architecture diagrams, project status reports
  • Manage client communication independently during US working hours
  • Handle scope discussions, timeline negotiations, and expectation managementProduct Delivery
  • Drive products from concept to live launch, including go-live checklists, deployment pipelines, and rollback plans
  • Own post-launch monitoring, performance optimization, and iteration cyclesAI-Driven Efficiency
  • Actively use AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate development, code review, testing, and documentation
  • Build/streamline internal workflows using AI to improve team velocity
  • Evaluate and introduce new AI tooling where it improves delivery speed or quality

Required Skills

  • Frontend: React.js (advanced), Redux/Context API, TypeScript, HTML5/CSS3, responsive design, performance optimization
  • Backend: Node.js, Express.js, RESTful API & GraphQL design, microservices architecture
  • Database: MongoDB (schema design, aggregation, indexing/performance tuning), Redis (caching)
  • Cloud & DevOps: AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Jenkins), basic Kubernetes exposure
  • Architecture: System design, scalability planning, security best practices (OWASP), API gateway/load balancing concepts
  • Leadership: Sprint planning, code review ownership, mentoring, cross-functional coordination
  • Client-Facing: Requirement discovery, technical documentation (SRS, architecture docs, SOWs), client communication in a US business context
  • AI Tooling: Practical, daily use of AI coding/productivity tools — not just awareness

Nice to Have

  • Next.js, Nest.js
  • Experience with client billing models (T&M, fixed bid)
  • Prior experience in an agency/services environment handling multiple client projects
  • PMP/Agile certification
  • Experience setting up engineering processes from scratch (0-to-1 team building)
