About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious Full Stack Developer with a foundation in React.js/JavaScript and Python backend development, along with knowledge of databases, GIS methodologies, geospatial data, and commonly used GIS libraries and tools.

The selected candidate will work on an esteemed Government project involving modern software, GIS and geospatial technologies. This role offers significant opportunities to learn, grow and take on increasing technical responsibilities while working on large-scale, mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop modern web applications using React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Develop backend services and REST APIs using Python, FastAPI/Django/Flask.
• Design and integrate frontend and backend services.
• Work with relational and spatial databases, particularly PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
• Apply database best practices including schema design, indexing, query optimisation, relationships, transactions and data integrity.
• Work with GIS and geospatial data for mapping, visualisation, analysis and spatial processing.
• Develop interactive maps and geospatial interfaces.
• Work with GIS libraries and tools such as GeoPandas, Shapely, GDAL/OGR, Leaflet, OpenLayers, MapLibre or similar technologies.
• Understand coordinate reference systems, projections, spatial queries and common geospatial data formats.
• Write clean, maintainable and reusable code following established software engineering practices.
• Use Git, Docker, testing, API documentation and code review as part of the development workflow.
• Collaborate with senior developers, GIS specialists, AI/ML engineers and domain experts.
• Continuously learn and adopt new technologies, frameworks, tools and engineering practices relevant to the project.
