Role Description The Product Manager – High Speed Drill System (Neuro & Spine) is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune Division. This role is responsible for managing the entire product lifecycle of high-speed drill systems used in neurosurgical and spinal procedures, from market research and concept development to launch and post-market optimization. The Product Manager collaborates closely with R&D, engineering, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and sales teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and ensure compliance with medical device standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering customer and surgeon feedback, analyzing market trends, developing product roadmaps, preparing technical and marketing documentation, and supporting sales and clinical teams with training and product demonstrations. The role also involves monitoring product performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing to long-term portfolio strategy and innovation.
Qualifications
- Experience in product management or product development in medical devices or related healthcare technology.
- Strong understanding of neurosurgical and spinal procedures, surgical workflows, and operating room environments (clinical exposure or technical familiarity preferred).
- Ability to conduct market research, analyze data, and translate customer insights into clear product requirements and roadmaps.
- Knowledge of medical device regulations, quality systems, and risk management principles.
- Effective collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, manufacturing, sales, and marketing.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for creating product documentation, training materials, and technical presentations.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities, including prioritization, timeline management, and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biomedical engineering, life sciences, or a related field; an advanced degree or MBA is an advantage.
- Prior experience with power tools, surgical instrumentation, or high-speed drill systems is highly desirable.
- Willingness to be on-site in the Pune Division and to visit hospitals, clinics, and customers as needed.
