Role Description The Siemens Opcenter MES System Developer (Part-time Interviewer) will remotely conduct structured technical interviews focused on Siemens Opcenter MES, related system development, and integration topics. This part-time role involves assessing candidate expertise in architecture, configuration, customization, performance optimization, and troubleshooting within complex manufacturing environments. The interviewer will design and refine technical questions, review candidate profiles, and provide objective evaluations and feedback to hiring teams.
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Opcenter MES System Developer to design, develop, configure, integrate, and support Siemens Opcenter MES solutions across manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in manufacturing requirements into scalable MES applications and will be responsible for both system design and software development.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop Siemens Opcenter MES solutions based on manufacturing and business requirements.
* Configure and customize Opcenter MES modules, workflows, screens, business rules, and reports.
* Develop integrations between Opcenter MES and ERP, PLM, automation, equipment, warehouse, quality, and other enterprise systems.
* Design application architecture, data models, interfaces, and technical specifications.
* Develop and maintain APIs, web services, database procedures, and integration components.
* Analyze existing manufacturing processes and recommend opportunities for standardization and automation.
* Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
* Troubleshoot system issues and perform root-cause analysis.
* Develop technical documentation, configuration guides, test plans, and support procedures.
Required Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience designing and developing manufacturing execution systems.
* Hands-on experience with Siemens Opcenter MES or a comparable MES platform.
* Strong understanding of MES concepts, including:
* Workflows and production operations
* Dispatching and scheduling
* Material and lot traceability
* Electronic work instructions
* Quality and nonconformance management
* Equipment and labor tracking
* Genealogy and reporting
* Experience with software design, application development, system configuration, and integration.
* Strong SQL and relational database development experience.
* Experience developing or consuming APIs, web services, and system interfaces.
* Knowledge of application development using technologies such as .NET, Java, JavaScript, or similar.
