Lead Data Scientist

Role Description The Lead Data Scientist will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end data science initiatives, from problem definition and data exploration to model development, validation, and deployment. Day-to-day activities include leading analytical projects, mentoring data team members, collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into analytical solutions, and presenting insights in clear, actionable formats. The role involves designing experiments, refining statistical and machine learning models, and working closely with engineering and consulting teams to integrate solutions into client environments. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Coimbatore, requiring regular collaboration with colleagues and clients at the office.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Data Science and Statistics, with experience applying statistical methods and machine learning techniques to real-world problems.
• Proficiency in Data Analytics and Data Analysis, including cleaning, transforming, and interpreting complex datasets to generate actionable insights.
• Ability to create clear and compelling Data Visualization outputs using modern tools and frameworks to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience leading projects or teams, with skills in stakeholder communication, requirements gathering, and solution design.
• Hands-on expertise with common data science tools and languages (such as Python or R, SQL, and relevant libraries or frameworks).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline.
• Ability to work on-site in Coimbatore, collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, and manage multiple priorities.
• Background in consulting or exposure to client-facing work, plus familiarity with cloud platforms and MLOps practices, is beneficial.
