Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead to join the Cortex team and take ownership of technical delivery, platform stability, architecture understanding, and engineering quality. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on development experience, the ability to work across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and data layers, and proven experience guiding engineers through complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of complex backlog items, enhancements, and production fixes.
• Understand the existing Cortex platform architecture, dependencies, integrations, and business functionality.
• Provide technical direction while preserving stable production capabilities and avoiding unnecessary redesign.
• Work closely with frontend, backend, DevOps, infrastructure, data, Product, Architecture, and partner teams.
• Investigate complex production issues using application logs, telemetry, code analysis, database inspection, and reproducible test scenarios.
• Review code and ensure quality, test coverage, maintainability, scalability, security, and operational readiness.
• Break down technical requirements into actionable tasks and support effective delivery planning.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for incremental improvements.
• Mentor engineers, encourage engineering best practices, and promote knowledge sharing.
• Support knowledge transfer from the legacy Cortex organization to the Hyderabad team.
• Ensure clear technical documentation and smooth transition of platform ownership.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of overall software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in software design, development, debugging, and production support.
• Experience leading engineering teams and delivering enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, APIs, integrations, databases, and distributed systems.
• Experience working across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and platform components.
• Proficiency in automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to understand and extend an existing codebase without unnecessary architectural changes.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and ownership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-native platforms, containerization, orchestration, and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience in platform modernization, legacy knowledge transition, or production-critical application support.
• Ability to balance hands-on coding with technical leadership.
