Role Description As a Founding Engineer at Joy-N-Crew Vacations LLP, you will design, build, and maintain the core technology platform that powers our travel-planning and customer experience tools. This full-time, on-site role is based in Pune City and involves close collaboration with founders, operations, and product teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. Day-to-day, you will architect and implement scalable backend and frontend systems, integrate third-party services, optimize performance, and ensure high standards of reliability and security. You will establish engineering best practices, set up development workflows, and contribute to technical decision-making, including stack selection and roadmap planning. In addition, you will help shape the product vision, experiment with new features, and iterate quickly based on traveler and internal feedback.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills in modern programming languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar) and experience with web application development.
• AI and programming language skills are a must.
• Experience with system architecture, databases (SQL/NoSQL), APIs, and integrating third-party services or travel technology platforms.
• Proficiency with frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular) and responsive UI development for user-facing applications.
• Ability to set up and maintain development workflows, including version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and basic DevOps practices.
• Comfort with working in an early-stage environment, owning end-to-end features, and making pragmatic trade-offs between speed and quality.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across non-technical teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in travel and cultural experiences; familiarity with Japan or the travel industry is a plus.
